Festivali i Këngës 2024 is the 63rd edition of Albania’s annual music competition, set to take place in December 2024. As in previous years, the festival will serve as the country’s national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2025. Organized by Radio Televizioni Shqiptar (RTSH), Festivali i Këngës will feature a range of established and emerging Albanian artists competing for the chance to represent Albania on the Eurovision stage. The festival is known for its live orchestral performances and diverse musical styles, making it a highlight of Albania’s cultural calendar.
Format
In June 2024, Albanian singer and songwriter Elhaida Dani (who won the 53rd edition of Festivali i Këngës) was announced as the artistic director of the contest.[1]
Contestants
RTSH initiated an application period for artists and composers interested in participating in the 63rd edition of Festivali i Këngës from 27 September to 29 September 2024.[2] At the closing of the submission period, 85 entries had been received.[3] A total of 30 artists appeared on the provisional list of artists selected to compete in the festival, which was published on 7 October.[4][5] Among the selected competing artists is Mal Retkoceri , who won the 2023 festival.
