Year of Birth

[edit]

Why are there two different years of birth in this article? Was she born in 1966 or 1973? Aynayz (talk) 19:00, 23 August 2010 (UTC)Aynayz[reply]

She was born in 1966.Ravenscroft32 (talk) 12:37, 9 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not change Kristin Bauer's year of birth to 1973 unless you can provide a very good source. She graduated high school in 1984 according to printed reports, so I think it unlikely that anybody can provide such a source. Even IMDB has caught up. Ravenscroft32 (talk) 21:13, 17 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have official government issued documentation that states Kristin was in fact born in 1973, provided by Kristin herself. Please reach out to me if this documentation is needed. This error has been haunting us for years and we'd love to put an end to it now. contact: info@fifteenminutes.com — Preceding unsigned comment added by Fifteenminutespr (talkcontribs) 19:05, 6 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

:::Well the results are that she was born in 1966. [personal attack removed] General Zukov (talk) 02:27, 19 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

No, the result is that her birthdate is reported as 1973 and 1966 in equally reliable sources. You are making an unsupported judgment call with regard to the accuracy of the sources and the motivations of the BLP subject. --Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 14:43, 19 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed that someone recently added the date of birth back in (using the 1966 date which is probably correct) and then someone else promptly edit-warred it to 1973. Previously we had agreed not to publish the date of birth due to multiple sources supporting the different dates as per WP:LP. I removed the offending dates and added a comment to the source, which probably nobody will read. Dave (djkernen)|Talk to me|Please help! 16:50, 16 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

On her offical website (http://www.kristinbauer.com/Kristin/Bio.html), it states her year of birth as 1973. (Dr Scorp) 00:18, 18 July 2013

That's not good enough; you need a reliable source. An actor's own website or other PR material is not a reliable source for anything other than the subject's own opinions (and even those can be challenged). Did you even read the archived discussion? I've been looking around the Web and here's what I found. The Prairie School's website (expand the list of distinguished artists honorees) shows that a Jill Neubauer graduated in 1978. I wondered if she is Kristin's sister so I googled her and found a namesake architectural firm in Massachusetts. The page about "Mom's Farmhouse" says the farm is located near Racine, Wisconsin. (Why isn't it "Mom and Dad's Farmhouse"? you may wonder. Well, I saw a photo on Kristin's website that had "We miss you Dad" on it so he must have passed away.) This satisfied me that this architect is Kristin's older sister, so I looked at her bio. It says she received her undergraduate degree in 1983, five (or five and a half) years after the Jill Neubauer who attended The Prairie School graduated. (Normally, it takes a person who attends college full time four years to finish, but it's not unusual for someone to take five years. Jill Neubauer appears to have double-majored; this may explain why she took five years after finishing high school to graduate from college.) On the Arts section of her website, Kristin Bauer writes, "I started out drawing in junior high. Probably because my cool older sister did." If Kristin were born in 1973, she would have been as young as four years and eight months old when Jill left home for college (Cornell University in Ithaca, NY). I find it highly unlikely that Jill's drawings impressed little Kristin such that the latter was inspired to try drawing herself but only after the passage of half a dozen years or so. --anon. 71.183.134.249 (talk) 04:55, 21 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Looking around the web and drawing inferences is original research. You can do that on a news site but not here. Dusty|💬|You can help! 03:21, 4 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Bauer A Vegitarian?

[edit]

Is there a source for the statement that Bauer is a vegetarian? It's highly unlikely. She is from Wisconsin, which has approximately two vegetarian restaurants in the whole state and which is pretty much all about beef and cheese. Oh and beer. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Djkernen (talkcontribs) 23:28, 11 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but to assume that a person cannot be a vegetarian due to their place of birth is plain ridiculous. If there is a reliable source proving Bauer is a vegetarian, so she is. --86.83.195.175 (talk) 10:09, 8 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Ridiculous it may be but without a reliable source my objection stands! (Obviously the lack of a reference on the statement is what prompted my objection in the first place!) Peace .... Dave (djkernen)|Talk to me|Please help! —Preceding undated comment added 18:41, 1 November 2011 (UTC).[reply]

Emily's Reasons Why Not Date

[edit]

Why is the date listed as 2008 when the series aired in 2006? In the history it was originally 2006 before 2008. 64.211.41.195 (talk) 15:16, 8 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

No mention of marriage to Abri Van Straten?

[edit]

Ms Bauer has been married for 10 years to South African Singer/Actor Abri Van Straten. It seems a little amiss not to mention such a significant and important part of her life. Johnwrd (talk) 22:33, 7 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
