Hugh Freeze IS NOT the offensive coordinator at The University of Tennessee 2600:1700:55F0:98A0:2164:A0BE:116B:EC17 (talk) 22:55, 2 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Done - Per this very recent article [1], there is no final word on this subject yet. Thank you for helping keep the rumors at bay until a final decision is announced. A2soup (talk) 07:44, 3 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect records for ole miss

[edit]

All of the records for Ole Miss are wrong, they do not show any of his wins in overall or in-conference. 2603:6011:2CF0:8520:CC5C:162A:6786:DE86 (talk) 19:45, 6 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The wins were vacated, see the footnotes. — BillHPike (talk, contribs) 23:34, 6 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Can we lock this thread as Auburn move is not official yet. 2603:7000:4B3D:1631:AD54:D7E0:E84F:A6C3 (talk) 15:19, 26 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Quit vs departed

[edit]

I think "quit" is non-neutral language when discussing a sporting transition--it carries the implication that someone "quit" (gave up on, abandoned) their team. No doubt plenty of fans feel that way. I think we usually phrase it as "left to take" or "departed" when discussing coaches who take a new job before the bowl game. Mackensen (talk) 21:59, 26 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Compare Freeze's two one-year successors at Arkansas State: Gus Malzahn says "Did not coach bowl game", while Bryan Harsin says "Departed Arkansas State for Boise State before bowl game". Mackensen (talk) 00:46, 27 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Mass deletion

[edit]

An editor has deleted a large amount of information from the bio that is RS-sourced and highly relevant. It can be trimmed, but the mass deletion imho goes way too far. This is, of course I would think, a highly important aspect of the subject's bio. 2603:7000:2101:AA00:6C0A:94C4:9E07:7521 (talk) 17:42, 3 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Isaidnoway can explain their thinking, but I'm guessing that the justification was that the detail about the "21 distinct charges against the football program, individual coaches and athletic department officials, and boosters" went beyond what's needed in an article about Hugh Freeze. It might, however, be appropriate for a new Ole Miss football scandal article. PRRfan (talk) 18:20, 3 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
There's already six paragraphs in that section summarizing the scandal and resignation. The amount of detail you added is not needed and is UNDUE for a BLP, which is the topic of this article, not Ole Miss football scandal. Isaidnoway (talk) 21:36, 3 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
