Singapore gay movement

[edit]

Some of this appears to be copied from http://www.geocities.com/plusg1/history_01.htm. Please confirm in Talk:Singapore gay movement that you have permission from (or are) the author. If not, edit the page and insert {{delete}} at the top. Rich Farmbrough 18:56, 20 Mar 2005 (UTC)

I intend to modify it some more when I have the time, Rich. Just bear with the copyright infringement for the time being. Cheers.

I very much appreciate the changes you've made to the article to comply with Wikipedia's NPOV policy, but my last concern is the style its being written in. Can you try to change it into a formal tone some time in the near future rather than it reading like a first-person/narrative? Although its written in third-person, some sections still read like a story when it should be a discursive. A good tip to use is to replace some sentences with the passive voice which otherwise sound a bit narrative, and instead of for example, "the organisers knew that [such and such] was taking place. So they did [another such and such]" which really sounds like a narrative, confront the issue in third person, a style that sounds that its assuming we have no personal knowledge of the issue at hand at all - just factual knowledge, which is really what we want. A passive voice works in some circumstances. -- Natalinasmpf 03:02, 15 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Welcome!

Hello, Groyn88, Welcome to Wikipedia!
I hope you like working here and want to continue. If you need help on how to name new articles, look at Naming Conventions, and for help on formatting the pages visit the Manual of Style. If you need general help, look at Help and the FAQ, and if you can't find your answer there, check the Village pump (for Wikipedia related questions) or the Reference Desk (for general questions). There's still more help at the Tutorial and the Policy Library. Also, don't forget to visit the Community Portal — and if you have any more questions after that, feel free to post them on my talk page.
Additional tips:
Here are some extra tips to help you get around Wikipedia:
  • If you made any edits before you got an account, you might be interested in assigning those to your username.
  • If you want to play around with your new Wiki skills, try the Sandbox.
  • Click on the Edit button on a page, and look at how other editors did what they did.
  • You can sign your name using three tildes, like this: ~~~. If you use four, you can add a datestamp too. Always sign comments on Talk pages, never sign Articles.
  • You might want to add yourself to the New User Log.
  • If your first language isn't English, try Wikipedia:Contributing to articles outside your native language.
Happy editing!

Hello Groyn! I noticed you created the article Singapore gay history, but it doesn't have any content. Have you anything to add to it? If not, it should probably be deleted until it gets some. Thanks. --Whosyourjudas\talk 03:04, 15 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Image tag

[edit]

Hi Groyn88! In Wikipedia, you are required to tag the images that are uploaded. Please refer to this article WP:ICT. Your uploaded images are currently tagged as "Possibly unfree images" since there are neither sources nor tags listed. Please tag them specifically, otherwise they will be deleted. Thank you. --*drew 15:19, 1 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Edit summary

[edit]

Hello. Please remember to always provide an edit summary. Thanks and happy edits. Alphax τεχ 16:17, 1 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Groyn...I wanted to discuss with you a bit about the category move you did this morning. Ordinarily, "sexual minorities" is considered problematic as a term for LGBT people (the T's reject it, for one thing), and hence not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. Is there a valid reason why the term should be treated differently in Singapore's case than it is otherwise? Bearcat 19:51, 3 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

  • Perhaps "Singapore LGBT culture" would be more acceptable, but the history articles wouldn't really fit. Anyway, my main intention in changing the title of the category was to encompass the "Transgender people in Singapore" article, which user:Alex R objected to including under "Homosexuality in Singapore". Can you suggest a better title that includes transgender people as well? I'd appreciate anyone's suggestions.Groyn88 14:38, 5 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I think that the lay Singaporean reader would not know what LGBT meant, so I would prefer the words 'gay' or 'homosexual' to be in the category title. Does anyone object to 'Singaporean homosexual and transgender culture'? If not, I shall make the change soon.Groyn88 10:14, 8 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

  • LGBT issues can be awfully thorny when it comes to naming, I have to admit. But "homosexual and transgender" brings up two problems of its own. One is that "homosexual" isn't considered an appropriate label by either gay men or lesbians, let alone both of them grouped together, and the other is that it excludes bisexuals. Unfortunately, the only choices we really have for category names are either the abbreviation "LGBT" or spelling out the full words "Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender". Bearcat 02:35, 10 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I think I'll go for 'Singaporean gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender culture', even though it is quite a mouthful. If there are no objections, I'll make the change in a week or so.Groyn88 17:03, 10 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

  • To simplify things, I'm going to rename it 'Singaporean gay and transgender culture'. After all, lesbians are considered gay too, and bisexuals are half-gay. So in a way, the title includes them as well, plus it has the advantage of not being too lengthy. If no one objects, I'll make the switch soon.Groyn88 06:20, 14 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]
    • Actually, no, both lesbians and bisexuals are quite clear that the word "gay" is not an umbrella term that includes them. You have to specify gay and lesbian and bisexual. Bearcat 05:49, 15 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

suggestions

[edit]

Two suggestions: maintain an image gallery (as you take some nice photos), and the R21 distinction seems to only apply across some jurisdictions, so I would think "may be prohibited/offensive" would be better word on your talk page. I've created a gallery for you at User:Groyn88/gallery. You may move it, ask me to delete it, etc. if you don't want one. Elle vécut heureuse à jamais (Be eudaimonic!) 05:35, 29 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Asking for Public domain

[edit]

I am approaching you on the images which you uploaded on Bugis Street. Where did you get it from? At least one image--Image:BugisStreetTrans006.jpg is argumentably Public domain rather than fair use. Also, I would strongly encourage you to state where did you get all the images from. Claiming fairuse on images blatantly without providing information on its source would certainly lead to the downfall that these images might get deleted. This is a great pity, rather, for they are valuable historical photographs. If the images are from or found in the Singapore National Board Archives, it is likely that we can argue for public domain status. Cheers! Mr Tan 15:00, 12 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]
An image that you uploaded, Image:AlfianSaat001.JPG, has been listed at Wikipedia:Copyright problems because it is a suspected copyright violation. Please look there if you know that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), and then provide the necessary information there and on its page, if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you.
[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:MartinLoh001.JPG. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Thank you. BRossow 19:37, 17 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image Tagging for Image:PaddyChew002.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:PaddyChew002.jpg. The image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to indicate why we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the image qualifies under Wikipedia's fair use guidelines, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use. If you want the image to be deleted, tag it as {{db-unksource}}.

If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion.

License tagging for Image:CeritaBudakBudak001.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:CeritaBudakBudak001.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Help From fellow Wikipedians against censorship!

Thank you for your time I was wondering if i could ask your opinion?? :)

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/G. Edward Griffin here is the Article on G. Edward Griffin that I have just reconstructed and am still in the process of doing, But it's been put up for deletion?.

I was wondering if you could pitch in a comment in any direction you feel but I believe this man is very notable having Authored such books as The Creature from Jekyll Island a history of the Federal Reserve Act of 1913, but also many many more films as well, also being a member of many organisations.

Me being an inclusionist of sorts I would rather see changes made rather than a wholesale deletion, what do you think?

The man is very notable he has been doing this sort of work since the 60’s when he created the “The Capitalist Conspiracy” one of the first and most documented histories of Political Corruption in film that I know of.

Thank you for all your help, I’m just starting out in Wikipedia I have created the Benjamin H. Freedman, article and reconstructed the The Money Masters article and some others but I need help here! Any help of mine you may need or want in any regard in the future just ask :)

Also any contribution you would like to make to improve the article please consider!

Really i wouldn't ask if i did not really think this article worthy.

But when you get here, please help our push for equality by cutting down on your spending in the straight economy and putting your pink dollars in the gay economy. Our government listens more when it's money talking. Cheers.Groyn88 (talk) 17:32, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Singapore gay films

[edit]

An editor has nominated Singapore gay films, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Singapore gay films (2nd nomination) and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 20:14, 29 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, you recently updated "Section 377A of the Penal Code (Singapore)" with links to Parliamentary debates broadcast on Singapore TV that were uploaded on to YouTube. I think these videos were uploaded on to YouTube in breach of copyrights held by the Parliament of Singapore and MediaCorp, and as such it is against Wikipedia policy to link to such videos: see "Wikipedia:Copyrights#Linking to copyrighted works" ("[I]f you know that an external Web site is carrying a work in violation of the creator's copyright, do not link to that copy of the work"). I'd therefore suggest that you remove the links to YouTube and link, if possible, to news reports about the Parliamentary proceedings. If you would like to discuss this matter further, let's do so on the article's talk page. — Cheers, JackLee talk 16:15, 1 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You've also just added a link to a scan of a Straits Times article at http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd30/SiGNeL001/Scanned%20articles/Singapore/STArticle071205a.jpg. I'm afraid this is a clear breach of copyright. You can mention the article in a footnote and link to a website authorized by Singapore Press Holdings that contains the article (if one exists), but you must not link to a website that is acting in disregard of copyright laws. Could you please take steps to remove the links to this website and to YouTube as soon as possible? Thanks. — Cheers, JackLee talk 16:01, 2 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:BugisPeople001.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:BugisPeople001.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 17:48, 13 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:BugisStreetMovie002.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:BugisStreetMovie002.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Unspecified source for Image:PaddyChewColour.JPG

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:PaddyChewColour.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 14:27, 1 May 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Rettetast (talk) 14:27, 1 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have tagged Image:PaddyChewComingOut.JPG as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description page. Some examples can be found at Wikipedia:Use rationale examples. Please also consider using {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags/Non-free. Thank you. Thanks for uploading Image:AlexAu01.JPG. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

A tag has been placed on Pink Dot SG requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for organizations and companies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Pink Dot SG, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. ArcAngel (talk) 16:51, 4 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with Pink Dot SG. Thank you for uploading File:PinkDotWikipedia001.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. Possibly unfree File:BugisStreet027.jpg

[edit]

A file that you uploaded or altered, File:BugisStreet027.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree files because its copyright status is unclear or disputed. If the file's copyright status cannot be verified, it may be deleted. You may find more information on the file description page. You are welcome to add comments to its entry at the discussion if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. --Kelly hi! 04:03, 8 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article LGBT history in Singapore has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This article violates WP:NPOV, WP:ADVERT, WP:OR and does not cite sources for nearly all statements that should have them. Most importantly, the amount of text in this article that in one way or another violates one of these policies is huge. This makes it unfeasible to rewrite it. Although I applaud attention for LGBT topics, this article seems to be beyond rescue. Any issues brought up on the talk page only solicit responses from IPs clearly unfamiliar with WP's guidelines.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Please take note

[edit]

As you have indicated here that you are Dr. Roy Tan, realize that editing in areas that you are directly involved with constitutes a conflict of interest. Please read the pages that you've been provided links to if you wish to continue editing here. If you continue to edit against Wikipedia policy, your time here will be difficult and short. That is to say: "If you continue editing in the manner that you have, you will be blocked. You are now out of "last chances". — Ched :  ?  08:06, 24 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. It's been brought to my attention that you have uploaded several photographs evidently owned by others with a combination of "courtesy of" and "Public domain-self" release. Unfortunately, we can't do this. We need verification of license from the copyright owner. They either need to create accounts and upload the images themselves or provide verification of license to the Wikimedia Foundation. The "form letter" notification, which includes steps for addressing the issue, are provided below:

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page.

The images involved are:

I'm sorry that this imposes some difficulties on you, but I'm afraid that we have no option. As copyright is a legal matter, we must ensure that the copyright owners are willing to permit their content to be released, as you have indicated, into the public domain. If we do not receive verification, the images are likely to be deleted after a week. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 11:58, 24 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because it appears to be mainly intended or used for publicity and/or promotional purposes. Please read the following carefully.

Why can't I edit Wikipedia?

Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, celebrity or other well-known individual, or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. The edits may have violated one or more of our rules on spamming, which include: adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements, and using Wikipedia for promotion. Wikipedia has many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, but such groups are generally discouraged from using Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.

Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?

Probably not. See WP:FAQ/Organizations for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. Also, review the conflict of interest guidance to see the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, or organization. If this does not fit in with your goals, then you will not be allowed to edit again. Consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.

What can I do now?

You are still welcome to write about something other than your company or organization. If you do intend to make useful contributions on some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:

  • Add the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} on your user talk page.
  • Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
  • Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, please see how to appeal a block. PanydThe muffin is not subtle 14:38, 6 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Taboo001.JPG

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Taboo001.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. File permission problem with File:EileenaLee001.JPG

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:EileenaLee001.JPG. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

Notification of automated file description generation

[edit]

Your upload of File:21TanjongPagar001a.JPG or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.

This notification is placed on your talk page because a bot has identified you either as the uploader of the file, or as a contributor to its metadata. It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks! Non-free rationale for File:HongLimPark11.JPG

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:HongLimPark11.JPG. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page.
