Pronunciation of <j> in Kiowa

In the article, it states that in Kiowa "⟨j⟩ stands for a voiceless alveolar plosive, /t/", and the same sound is given in the table, however there are no references on this and in the article for Kiowa there is no mention of ⟨j⟩ being pronounced as /t/, in fact it suggests otherwise: that ⟨j⟩ is pronounced as a /j/. The sound /j/ seems to be pretty consistently represented by the letter "y" in Kiowa. The spelling of /t/ has varied. It is represented by the letter "j" in the alphabet devised by Parker McKenzie. However, this convention doesn't seem to have ever attained widespread use. Modern resources that I see from the Kiowa Tribe's website spell /t/ as "[d" instead.--Urszag (talk) 21:11, 18 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
