Where in the world?

"Born on the farm of Little Whitefield, near Wolfhill (Perth and Kinross)"... ok... but where in the world? should i remember you that «internet» is bigger than the sum of all english-language-countries?

(William M. Connolley 21:04, 29 Oct 2004 (UTC)) Err, is something wrong? Could you be a bit less citpyrc? I put that text in, ripped shamelessly from somewhere on the internet.

Wikify

I've attempted to wikify James Croll, and have removed Karol Langner's wikify tag — please feel free to put it back if I haven't done enough. I hope that the wiki links for Scottish and Perth and Kinross Perthshire, Scotland answer Comidadehospital's "where" question. -- JimR 12:24, 29 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Conflicting periods of ice ages given

The article now states that Croll believed that "ice ages occur on 22,000-year cycles in each hemisphere, and alternate between southern and northern hemispheres, lasting approximately 10,000 years each." but also that "Croll's theory predicted ...that the last ice ages should have ended about 80,000 years ago". How can these be reconciled? Butterfly or Chuang Tzu? (talk) 10:26, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
