Wikipedia:Requested moves/Technical requests
Appearance
If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."
If you are here because you want an admin to approve of your new article or your proposed page move, you are in the wrong place.

the - If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
- If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.

- Yunnanilus nigromaculatus (currently a redirect to Eonemachilus nigromaculatus) → Eonemachilus nigromaculatus (move · discuss) – Eonemachilus is the genus name used in Eschmeyer's Catalog of Fishes Quetzal1964 (talk) 08:26, 4 December 2024 (UTC)
- Post and Telecommunication of Kosovo (currently a redirect to Post and Telecom of Kosovo) → Post and Telecom of Kosovo (move · discuss) – Telecom means (sq;Telekomi). Telecommunication means (sq; telekomunikimi) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Leutrim.P (talk • contribs)

- @Leutrim.P:: I hope you don't mind that I reformatted your request to enable easier processing for us, (using the standard template noted above), for the three categories, you will need to see categories for discussion, as we do not handle those here. ASUKITE 15:39, 3 December 2024 (UTC)
- T.y for fixing the format, i can see its a redirect but thats why i need help to move the article, since it doesnt allow me to, bcs of existing redirect.. The next thing about the 3 categories, all these discussions for moving them are killing my brain, this is the seccond time im discussing it, i had a massive discussion about them in the Ask Questions main page, no one helped me. and someone wrote in the end there, they would be fixed in a week, since the titles were wrong lingualy, it never happened so i thought i could maybe fix it here. Can you open the topic to some admin who can do it rightaway, this redirections thing, its such a small thing, yet i've been having a hard time fixing this simple problem for such a long time its killing me, if you could just copy paste this topic to someones discussion page for me, who can actualy help, and just tag me there i would appreciate it. - @Leutrim.P No problem, I am unsure of which demonym for Kosovo is considered the "primary" or most-used, as both Kosovar and Kosovan are listed at Kosovo, so I've created redirects at each of the three categories for now, per instructions at Template:Category redirect - a single discussion at WP:CFD could likely list all such categories if enough editors might agree that "Kosovan" is the more common term, however as there are few pages (and thusly citations), it might be best to wait until the topic is fleshed out a bit more. ASUKITE 16:50, 3 December 2024 (UTC)
- According to the European Union who has lots of relations with Kosovo, as well as the United Nations Mission in Kosovo, the denonym "Kosovar" appears more commonly used in English language. Raladic (talk) 16:57, 3 December 2024 (UTC)

- Betis Deportivo Balompié (currently a redirect to Betis Deportivo) → Betis Deportivo (move · discuss) – The team is known as Betis Deportivo (coloquially Betis B). Betis Deportivo Balompié is the full name and isn't used in everyday speak. Bodeseven (talk) 16:43, 3 December 2024 (UTC)
- @Bodeseven - Do you have some sources to support that the proposed name is more common? Raladic (talk) 16:49, 3 December 2024 (UTC)
- On X, most people refer to the team like that, without using the full name.
- https://x.com/search?q=Betis Deportivo&src=typed_query
- Also the team lists it as Betis Deportivo officially in their webpage:

- CD El Ejido → CP El Ejido (currently a redirect back to CD El Ejido) (move · discuss) – This team has had their name changed for some time, finally recovering the "Poli" moniker, so i think it's only fair that the team article starts to use the name that it goes by now. Alternatively the article could be named: Polideportivo El Ejido. Also, the old logo was restored, so that would have to be changed too. Bodeseven (talk) 16:43, 3 December 2024 (UTC)
- @Bodeseven - This name change doesn't appear to be mentioned in the article itself, can you provide some sources to support that the proposed new name is more common? Raladic (talk) 16:49, 3 December 2024 (UTC)
- I do. There's an article talking about the name change in detail. The club's page has algo updated the name, and it's also on it's X (twitter) account.
- I assume the new name is also present on the RFEF official tables.

- Cong An Ha Noi FC (currently a redirect to Cong An Hanoi FC) → Cong An Hanoi FC (move · discuss) – Hanoi is the official English spelling of the city of Hà Nội, and the name change will allow consistency with the Hanoi FC page, another football club from the city. - Template:Reba Mcentire (currently a redirect to Template:Reba McEntire) → Template:Reba McEntire (move · discuss) – Capitalization should match main article and all other uses. QuietHere (talk | contributions) 10:05, 4 December 2024 (UTC)

- Killeen (currently a redirect to Killeen, Texas) → Killeen (disambiguation) (move · discuss) – Texas city by far PTOPIC. This title should redirect there, per MOS:USPLACE Mach61 13:51, 4 December 2024 (UTC)

- Vishnugupta (Gupta Empire) → Vishnugupta (move · discuss) – Unnecessary; no other article called Vishnugupta exists. PadFoot (talk) 09:43, 1 December 2024 (UTC)

- Visakhapatnam railway station → Visakhapatnam Junction railway station (currently a redirect back to Visakhapatnam railway station) (move · discuss) – Visakhapatnam Junction is the common and official name of the railway station. Already there is a article existing with the latter name (Visakhapatnam Junction), so unable to move the page from Visakhapatnam railway station to Visakhapatnam Junction railway station Jayanthkumar123 (talk) 16:29, 1 December 2024 (UTC)
- There are some sources that still mention the name as the former title, and there seems to ne by a recent rename. ToadetteEdit (talk) 19:23, 2 December 2024 (UTC)
- Lidia Gueiler → Lydia Gueiler (currently a redirect back to Lidia Gueiler) (move · discuss) – "Y" spelling seems to be the one used by Gueiler. It's reflected in presidential decrees during her presidency, in authored works, and in her authorized biography. Krisgabwoosh (talk) 02:15, 3 December 2024 (UTC) Krisgabwoosh (talk) 02:15, 3 December 2024 (UTC)
- This would warrant a full discussion because it seems like "Lidia" is the WP:COMMONNAME in English-language sources: The New York Times, BBC, The Independent, The Washington Post, The Times, Los Angeles Times, El Pais, Reuters, Encyclopædia Britannica, Bolivian Express, United Press International, etc., as well as numerous books and academic sources. RachelTensions (talk) 05:33, 3 December 2024 (UTC)
- Would WP:COMMONNAME really apply in this situation, though? That policy seems to be most applicable to people known by a name or nickname different from their birthname. In this case, the only difference is that one spelling is the more correct one. Should a misspelling be preferred simply because most sources use it? Krisgabwoosh (talk) 18:21, 3 December 2024 (UTC)

- e& (currently a redirect to Etisalat) → Etisalat (move · discuss) – Per WP:COMMONNAME, Etisalat is the most commonly used name, seen inthis article title, this, and this. They changed their name from Etisalat to e& in 2022 but Etisalat remainds the most commonly used name, like how Twitter remains so instead of being renamed to X. jolielover♥talk 04:14, 3 December 2024 (UTC)
