Wikipedia:VRT noticeboard
Wikimedia's volunteer response team (VRT) handles copyright permissions, email inquiries from the public, reuse inquiries, article errors, and a wide range of non-public inquiries. The email service is operated and managed by a cross-project team of volunteers at the Meta-Wiki level and not by the English Wikipedia community. Actions by VRT members on English Wikipedia are ultimately subject to review by the Arbitration Committee.
Please be aware that there is sometimes a backlog in processing tickets sent to the permissions-en queue. This backlog is currently 0 days.
- This noticeboard is primarily for
- Permissions verification and inquiries for text and files (hosted on the English Wikipedia) said to have been granted permission via VRTS.
- Requests for VRT member review of matters that have been described as VRT comments or actions.
- Other inquiries to VRT members that do not involve, disclose or reference private material.
- Do not post
- Private information or links to private information (including but not limited to emails, phone numbers, physical addresses).
- Fishing requests (asking for all details of a ticket or generally probing ticket information). You should make a specific request and clearly state the reason for your request.
- Additional questions on a point, once a VRT member has indicated they cannot answer due to privacy issues. (Further inquiries and any complaints should be made via email.)
- Requests for VRTS access (use meta:VRT/Volunteering instead).
- Questions regarding media hosted on Wikimedia Commons (use Commons:Volunteer Response Team/Noticeboard instead).
- Media questions unrelated to VRT (use Wikipedia:Media copyright questions instead).

Could a VRT member take a look at File:Sultan Mashiding Macarimbang Lomandong.png and assess whether email WP:CONSENT verification is still needed? I have several concerns about this given the uploader of the file: the account which added the source to Tumblr and the CC license aren't the same; there's nothing to indicate the Tumblr account holder and the person attributed as the photographer of the image are the same, and the account that added the CC license and Tumblr source hadn't edited in more that seven years before showing up to today to make that edit. If a VRT member feels I'm just being overcautious here, please remove the {{npd}} template I added (if it hasn't already been removed again by said user). -- Marchjuly (talk) 06:35, 5 December 2024 (UTC)
- @Marchjuly: On the image, it is credited to some Fatmah Dimakuta, and we don't have an evidence that permissions come from her. "I am giving all of you the freedom to do so. I am allowing everyone to utilize my portrait image in public, which could also serve as an inspiration for others. Dr. Mashiding Lomandong, Sultan sa Kablangan" - seems to come from the subject only. The addition of {{npd}} is justified. Regards, Aafi (talk) 07:09, 5 December 2024 (UTC)

YouTube screenshots
Can a VRT member take a look at File:Screenshot 20241201-173309 YouTube.jpg (reuploaded as File:BINACModel.jpg) and File:Screenshot 20241204-184404 YouTube.jpg to see whether they're OK as licensed or require additional verification? The uploader Chadalvarez2021 also uploaded File:Screenshot 20241204-182806 YouTube.jpg as proof that they received permission to upload these files to Wikipedia, but "Wikipedia only" types of permission aren't free enough for Wikipedia's purposes; moreover, the response the uploader received from the copyright holder doesn't mention a specific license and seems to imply "educational use only". I tried to explain these things to the uploader on their user talk page, but they just removed the {{npd}} templates from the file's page. -- Marchjuly (talk) 10:24, 7 December 2024 (UTC)
