Lolito Go (born July 21, 1985) is a Filipino poet[1] and a songwriter.[2]

In May 2023, he was involved in a controversy with fellow music artist Moira Dela Torre over cheating allegations[3] and ghostwriting issues.[4]

Career

Go got his first nationwide exposure in 2016 for a composition addressing extrajudicial killings.[5]

In 2017, Go gained recognition for composing and playing the ukulele music for "Titibo-tibo," which won the grand prize at Himig Handog, a national songwriting competition in the Philippines.[6]

In 2018, his personal story inspired an episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya (MMK), a Philippine drama anthology, which featured the love story behind "Titibo-tibo." He and his wife, Libertine Amistoso, later co-wrote "Dear Ate Charo," the 28th-anniversary theme song for MMK, performed by Juris Fernandez.

In 2019, Go wrote "Pahinga," performed by Moira dela Torre for her Paalam album, and participated in the PhilPop Songwriting Bootcamp as a sponsored fellow. His composition "Balikan," performed by Benj Manalo, was a finalist in the 2020 PhilPop Songwriting Competition and won the People's Choice Award.

In 2021, Go released "Soldier in White," dedicated to medical frontliners during the COVID-19 pandemic, which was later recorded by Garrett Bolden of GMA Music.[7] In 2022, he wrote "Quaranfling" for Ken Chan and "My Miracle" for XOXO. The latter became the theme song for the Tagalized Korean drama Another Ms. Oh on GMA Network.[8]

In 2022, Go also contributed to political campaigns, co-writing with Moira dela Torre one of the campaign songs for former Vice President Leni Robredo.[9]

In 2024, his wedding song "He Knows," performed by Almira Lat, was released on streaming platforms.
