Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Philosopher49. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Tina Fernandes Botts, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 18:12, 26 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing certain pages (Tina Fernandes Botts) for Tina Fernandes Botts.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Wikipedia's guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Drmies (talk) 02:06, 9 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

A few things. Obviously you were edit warring, reverting other editors without even explaining what you were doing. It's also clear that you have a conflict of interest; ToBeFree asked you to declare this years ago. It is also clear to me that you have been editing while logged out, and so your recent edits from this account suggest you are avoiding scrutiny to assist in your edit war. What you should do is a. declare your COI properly; the links will tell you how to do that; b. stop edit warring and editing while logged out; c. using the article talk page to request edits. All of this his explained in the COI guidelines. And in general, please remember that this is an encyclopedia, not LinkedIn. If you actually wish to improve the article in agreement with our guidelines, find secondary sources to verify basic biographical information, and to confirm the importance of this subject's work (reviews of monographs are particularly helpful). Thank you, Drmies (talk) 02:09, 9 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
