Parameshti is a Prajapati who is a son of Brahma and Sarasvati. He creates the universe and its living entities along with other Prajapatis (creator gods). He is one of the twenty one Prajapatis mentioned in the Mahabharata. The Prajapatis create various entities in the universe and Parameshti creates cattle, carnivores, lions, leopards, cheetahs, water buffaloes, herbivores, horses, donkeys, livestocks, wildlife, plants, etc and even mythical creatures like kinnaras, kimpurushas, kindevas, pretas, guhyakas, etc.[1]
