Garrett Michael Huffman (born November 17, 2003) is an American country music singer-songwriter from Gastonia, North Carolina signed to Iron Gate Records. [1]
Background
Garrett found his first love at an early age when he discovered basketball and began playing at church & recreation leagues and then quickly progressed to AAU leagues with the dream of one day playing college basketball.[2] In February 2020, while in 10th grade, his team won their first JV Basketball State championship with Cramerton Christian School, a buzzer beater game winning shot by a pass from Garrett to his teammate. Then Covid hit and changed the trajectory of Garrett's life tremendously.[3][4]
During quarantine, Garrett picked up his brother's guitar and taught himself how to play by watching YouTube videos. He quickly began to fall in love with playing the guitar, singing, and songwriting.[5][6]
Due to Covid, Garrett transitioned to Gaston Christian School for his last 2 years of high school, where he joined the cross-country team and started playing in the praise band his junior year. In his junior year, he was able to help his team win their first ever cross-country state championship.[7] Garrett also entered the Gaston Christian Got Talent Competition[8] and won the competition.
After winning the competition and performing in the praise band, Garrett wanted to perform live shows. His first performance was at Sports Page Coulwood in Charlotte, NC in May 2021.[9]

Awards and Accomplishments
At the age of 18, Garrett signed an endorsement deal with Willow Creek Guitars due to his increased recognition in the music industry and became one of their featured artists. [23]
At the age of 20, Garrett gained the attention of Iron Gate Records in Nashville, TN due to his continued success and popularity and signed with the independent label.[24]
In 2023, Garrett was nominated for the Carolina Country Music Assocation (CCMA) entertainer of the year award and songwriter of the year award.[25] In January 2024, Garrett won the CCMA entertainer of the year award with the most votes ever cast in the history of the competition.[26][27][28]
Noteworthy Performances
Garrett has performed at multiple venues in Nashville, TN and multiple concert series events for towns/cities including opening for the Charlotte Symphony for 2022-2023. Garrett has also played at the famous Boathouse and House of Blues in Myrtle Beach, SC. Garrett has played events with Warren Peay, Ronald Radford, Mark Herndon, and Dixiana and has opened for Mike Rogers, Cody Webb, Point of Grace, Marcus King, Drake White, Mac Arnold, and Josh Turner in front of thousands of attendees.[29][30]
