Moriya Lee Almkiass-Hafif (Hebrew: מוריה לי אלמקיאס-חפיף; born April 15, 1995) is a Deaf Israeli woman, who was a model. She serves the news of the The Israel Deaf Sports Organization [he] (Asach).[1][2]

Biography

Almkiass was born in Haifa to both Deaf parents. She learned in the ‎Carmel Zvulun Regional High School [he] in Yagur, and served in the Israel Defence Force in the Israeli Navy.[3]

Since July 4, 2024, she has been married to Shafir Hafif,[4] a Deaf goalkeeper of the Ashdod Dolphins [he], who plays vs Hearing teams,[5] as well as in the Deaf Champions League [he] games.[6] Haifa Deaf Sports Club[7] is a perpetual opponent of the Ashdod Dolphins.[8][9][10]

Almkiass has Endometriosis.[11]

Career

In 2017 Almkiass was a player in the Deaf women's beach volleyball north league.[12]

In 2019 Almkiass won the Miss Deaf Israel contest[13] and participated the Miss & Mister Deaf World (MMDW) contest in South Africa when she was single.[14][15][16] Her sister, Gal Almkiass (born 1992), also participated at another international Deaf beauty contest. Gal participated also the Miss Deaf Israel 2019 contest, and lost to Moriya.[17]

In the Haifa Deaf Sports Club, Almkiass served as a project manager. Afterwards, she became a media woman.[18][19][20]

She interviewed Lev Briman, the Haifa Deaf Sports Club manager.[21] She interviewed also Rudolf Gonçalves Steinmetz, a futsal player from Brazil. He told her that he was ill before the game against Ashdod, and was taken the the hospital. In the evening of the same day, he played against Ashdod.[22]

In June 2020, Almkiass applied the Clalit pharmacy at Nesher, for serving her with a mask upon the face of the staff woman.[23]

After serving in the media group of the Haifa club, Asach took Almkiass to serve its news.[2] Bar Vanunu, who is a professional Hearing interpreter, responded to the video: "Extra Excellent".[24] Michael Kadosh, who is a Deaf sportsman and is shown in the video, is married to Shirly Pinto.
