Cardozo High School, officially called Benjamin N. Cardozo High School, and sometimes called 'Dozo by its students and others, is a high school located in Bayside, New York City, an area relatively affluent and safe compared to the rest of New York City. A moderate amount of violence and crime pervades this school, although it is considered to be the best public high school in New York City. In 1998 Newsweek magazine rated it one of the top 100 schools in the United States. [1] A large amount of the students who go to Cardozo are from out of the school's district. The school is named for U.S. Supreme Court justice Benjamin Cardozo.

True to its namesake, the school is known around New York City for its law program, offering classes in such subjects as contract law as well as a law internship program. In addition, the school's DaVinci program provides students an emphasis on scientific classes.
