Mattias
Someone has suggested in this article that Scar's brother's name was Mattias. Can I see a source for this please? Otherwise I will have no choice but to continue to delete it. - Nepharski 10:13 PM, 7 May 2006
Barry the Chopper and Jack the Ripper?
Although the two characters are obviously very different, could it be that Barry the chopper was partly inspired by the famous criminal? I would like to add a small bit to the end of his section about it, but I would really like someone to confirm this.
- the ripper went after prostitues. barry goes after anyone with flesh. i dont think barry character has anything to do with jack th ripper. if we cant confirm it, shouldnt put it here
Alphabetical listing
With the page getting so long... perhaps we want to alphabetize it? — Ambush Commander(Talk) 02:40, 5 October 2005 (UTC)
- That or another sane sorting system- right now it seems to be random. --maru (talk) contribs 21:19, 28 February 2006 (UTC)
Officer Hughes
“…alternative versions of them living in this world.”
Huh? —Frungi 05:32, 27 November 2005 (UTC)
- It's the plot line. It's correct. Trust me. ;-) (what happens is later in the anime series, Edward Elric gets sent to our world the eve of World War II. He finds out that he is inhabiting the body of an alternative version of himself in our world, and in turn, it is found out that almost everyone Edward knew in Amestris exists in our world (but not really)) — Ambush Commander(Talk) 21:21, 27 November 2005 (UTC)
I think the the 1920s in the film should be stated as in the Interwar period instead of the eve of the WWII. The eve of WWII would be the years in or after middle 1930s, right before WWII started. - HamChoi 05:42, 10 February 2006 (UTC)
- True. In fact, we can date it pretty precisely since one of the main events is the Beer Hall putsch: "..Thursday, 8 November to the early afternoon of Friday, 9 November 1923". --maru (talk) contribs 07:28, 10 February 2006 (UTC)
Page moving
In an effort to clean up the way characters are organized, I've changed designated this page specifically for anime exclusive characters. All characters who appeared in the manga have been moved to the "Minor Characters" page. A lot of text needs to be altered here to make things fit, and I hope to get to that later. I'm not stopping you guys from helping though. :) Jbetteridge 19:16, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
Requested move
Characters of the Fullmetal Alchemist anime → Other characters of Fullmetal Alchemist – This page was moved from a predetermined classification of lists in the Fullmetal Alchemist area with no effort what so ever to gain concensus, and unfortunatly the move can not be reversed without an admin TomStar81 (Talk) 08:24, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
The request succeeded because nobody voted oppose. --Dijxtra 15:11, 15 September 2006 (UTC)
Survey
- Support The original patern for organizing the characters was choosen because this methode (organising by anime and by manga) would result in massive article that would not otherwise be viable to maintain without splitting up. This was discussed some monthes ago, the relevant discussion can be found here TomStar81 (Talk) 08:27, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
- Comment The name Other characters.... does not conform to names of other lists of characters. As the main characters have their separate article, a better name would be Minor characters of the Fullmetal Alchemist anime. Errabee 08:45, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
- The new format for the articles does not result in pages any longer than the old format did, and it is much more logical. Plus, the old format was inherently biased towards the anime (ie: Tucker was not a chimera in the manga, and therefore it makes no sense to have him universally recognized as one, and Dante or ANYONE from the movie should in no way be recognized as main characters if they did not exist in the manga), which should not be the case because the manga is the source material and should be recognized as such. The categorization needs to be redone so that it includes "Main Characters" "State Military" "Homonculi" "Minor Characters" "Anime only" and "Video game only". This works much better and I can't imagine why it should be rejected, so long as the profiles are revised appropriately. Jbetteridge 17:42, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

Other World
I've just add something to Rudolf Huss's entry. I was just metioning the whole "Characters who's designs look life FMA characters" thing. Should we include these things in the entry or not. BrendantheJedi 01:47, 18 September 2006 (UTC)
Frank Archer
Why is there an entry for archer here if there is already one in the anime exclusive state military page? I really do not see the need for two entries, lads. 75.9.140.241 08:16, 9 October 2006 (UTC)
- The State Military page is NOT anime exclusive, and that is why Frank Archer shouldn't even be there at all. He should be on this page, not that one. 64.180.24.89 18:18, 9 October 2006 (UTC)
- There are now separate SM pages for anime and manga. I am removing Archer from this page, as he is already included in the SM anime article. Fullmetal2887 22:38, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

"Tringum"?
Why the spelling "Tringum" for Russell and Fletcher's last name? The official spelling in the anime translation is "Tringham"; while "Tringum" is used in the translation of Land of Sand, so is "Tringam" and so I don't think that book should be trusted for name spellings. But I'm reluctant to change the page in case there's some reason "Tringum" was chosen as the spelling to use here. Ketsuban (is 1337) 19:20, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
-Yeah, I changed it. The Aniplex DVDs do not use the spelling "Tringum", so whoever put that there was using crack or something. Ketsuban (is 1337) 22:02, 4 November 2006 (UTC)
- The Sony Aniplex DVDs in Japan use the spelling "Tringum." The FUNimation DVDs in North America use the spelling "Tringham." The article has been reverted to reflect this accordingly. Egan Loo 23:10, 4 November 2006 (UTC)
Noah
Two comments. First, in the Limited Edition DVD in the printed material the name is spelled "Noah" (not sure if it is spelled differently elsewhere). Second, the actress makes an appearance in the English commentary. Given that the director of the English version is the host (and was one of the two directors who worked on the English version oft the anime) the fact that Rose is never mentioned lends credence to the theory that she is not our world's counterpart to Rose. I think the main page should be changed to reflect this. 69.179.190.108 00:21, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
Hitler?
Should Hitler really be mentioned as a character? He had absolutely no signifigance to the characters and the story. MoChan 03:33, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
Fictional Anarchists?
Why is this article included in the category Fictional Anarchists? If this isn't explained properly within the list, it should be removed from that category. Cast
