Skinwalkers is an upcoming werewolf horror/action/thriller film directed by James Isaacs (director), the director of another horror film, Jason X. The film stars Jason Behr, Elias Koteas, and Rhona Mitra. The film was originally expected to hit theaters on December 1, 2007, but was later pushed to a release on March 30, 2007. Recently, the film has now been set to be released on July 27, 2007.
Skinwalkers marks Lions Gate Entertainment's first collaboration with Constantin Films, which created other sci fi films, such as Resident Evil, Resident Evil: Apocalypse and Wrong Turn. The special effects will be handled by effects house "Mr. X", which has done films such as the Dawn of the Dead (2004). This film also marks Lions Gate Entertainment's first collaboration with Stan Winston who created the effects for the Terminator films, the Jurassic Park franchise, Interview with a Vampire and the film War of the Worlds.
Director James Isaac has said, "Skinwalkers is unique because it has a great story, compelling characters, amazing special effects, action and stunning visuals. All of these elements come together in a way that is very organic to the story. I am very excited about the team of filmmakers involved in this project."

Plot
Two packs of werewolves, divided by principles, are signaled by the moon of the coming of an ancient prophecy. A young man named Timothy (Knight) approaches his 13th birthday, unaware this marks the time of his transformation. Timothy has been raised by his mother Rachel (Mitra), his grandmother (Gordon), his Uncle Jonas (Koteas), his cousin Katherine (Carter) and Katherine's boyfriend, Adam (Roberts).
Rachel and Timothy have been unaware that the rest of the family are "good" werewolves that have guarded Timothy and his secret since birth. They know that Timothy is a half blood, and will control the destiny of the family. But they also know that Timothy's power will put him in danger, for there are other werewolves that revel and embrace their blood-lust that are prepared to kill to preserve their way of life. These werewolves, led by Varek (Behr), Zo (Coates) and Sonya (Malthe), are hell bent on finding Timothy; their kin.
Characters
Varek — A formidable, charismatic figure with compelling eyes and a somber, mesmerizing manner. Powerful and terrifying, he's the head of a ravening horde of werewolves who have no intention of allowing Timothy, the promised savior, to end their evil reign. Varek, his lover Sonja, and their two werewolf minions, are on the trail of young Timothy, whom they must kill before his 13th birthday or face destruction.
Jonas — The Alpha of the pack sworn to protect Timothy, and father of Katherine. Like the others, he keeps himself restrained on the full moon, and wants their curse to finally end. Official info coming soon.
Rachel Talbot — A widow, hard-pressed to cope with her frail son Timothy's frequent illnesses, is shocked to learn that her friends and loved ones in her serene small-town community all share a shocking secret. They are all werewolves, sworn to defend Timothy, their promised savior, to the death. And with the evil Varek and his werewolves on the march, they must make good on their vow...

Sonja — The Alpha female in Varek's pack, and his mate. Was once human, with a seemingly miserable life until sired by Varek. Is very neurotic, and completely loyal to Varek, and obssessed with him.
Timothy — A half-blood, the offspring of a male werewolf and Rachel. He holds the power to control the destiny of his family, and the entire werewolf race along with him. He's been guarded since he was born by Jonas and his pack, and is a target for Varek's pack.
Katherine — Jonas's daughter, she's a vibrant, bright young woman of 23 who is Timothy's cousin and surrogate big sister. Very much in love with Adam, her boyfriend, Katherine seems completely open and carefree -- until it is revealed that she, also, is a werewolf who must be bound and locked away to resist her base impulses. Captured by Varek and his crew, Katherine is rescued by Adam -- but help comes too late to save her from a dire and dreadful transformation...

Grenier — Another of Varek's deadly cronies, Grenier is a hideous and grisly behemoth whose face is a roadmark of scars. Tongueless and wordless, he lives to kill, and he destroys his victims with vicious and sickening glee.
