Albany Middle School, known as AMS, serves grades six through eight for students in Albany, California. The public school combines students graduating from the city's three elementary schools: Cornell, Marin, and Ocean View. The school operates under the Albany Unified School District.

Albany Middle School offers band and an arts and drama program and a large sports program. Sports offered at the school include basketball, cross country, a championship-winning track and field team, wrestling, and volleyball. In 2006 the girls basketball team won the East Bay Regional championship. The school also offers a leadership program. Albany's test scores are among the top in the East Bay.

The school opened in 1999 at its current location of 1259 Brighton Ave. Previously it was at 1000 Jackson St, where Ocean View Elementary School now is.

The school's principal is Robin Davis and vice principal is David Neumann. Its mascot is the cobra.

On May 8, 2007, well-known science teacher Kay Lynnette Sorg was arrested for alleged child molestation. The student accuser reported the acts six months ago to the school district. The Albany police department then launched a 6-month investigation which included searching Ms. Sorg's home and classroom. Supposedly taken place between 1990-1994 when the female student was between the ages of 14-17. Ms. Sorg was charged with 13 felony accounts including oral copulation with a minor and lewd acts with a minor victim. Her husband, Don Etchegorry, quit his job along with Ms. Sorg the day before she was arrested. The case has not yet gone to trial but many students and former students have begun starting blogs and facebook groups against this much hated Albany Science teacher.
