Smashbros.com has been updated

There's not really any new info, but some may try to edit the page anyway. Guess it's up to you Wikipedians to decide whether it's worth mentioning in the article. RandomGuy42 08:42, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

Nah, I don't think so. For those who can't be bothered to look, the site has changed to a countdown timer for a relaunch of the site. The stuff in the relaunched site is worth mentioning though, but best to leave it to next week, when it actually happens. - Zero1328 Talk? 09:25, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
That's what I thought. But there's still a fair amount of people who won't read this page and will add something like, "On May 14th, the official site went through it's first update for 2007." or something to that effect. RandomGuy42 09:56, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

This whole page is forum like comments that does not improve the content of the article and wastes space on the Talk Page. Anubiz 13:49, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

I can't get to the official website right now so comments like this help me keep up on the new info. So, do I understand right? There's a countdown on the page to when an update will be? When is the update? (Zojo 14:03, 15 May 2007 (UTC))

The Update Should be Monday the 21st.Miked54321 14:32, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

It now says only 6 days remaining. It also says that it is (c) HAL Laboratory Inc., does that mean it is indeed being developed by HAL labs? I wanted to check here before changing it and I also don't know how to cite refrences. Sonic0967 15:18, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

I think it's safe to say that HAL Laboratories is developing this game, or at least assisting in the development. Now, i also heard that once the site goes online, we will know for certain whether Sonic the Hedgehog is actually in the game or not. RingtailedFoxTalkStalk 16:06, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

Wikipecdia is not a crystal ball, people! As for the HAL, I think this might be evidance to the Devs, but not offical confirm. As always, Verifibility, people. Quatreryukami 17:42, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

It looks like it will get a overhaul, but unless this overhaul shows us new gameplay features or new characters it is irrelevent to this article. BassxForte 18:01, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

We will not get new info. Anubiz 18:17, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

Glad to know you went into the future and checked that for us. Thanks much! --Shadow Hog 19:22, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

Isn't it obvious? He's a freaking time travller. NOT. Anubiz you do not work for Sora or Nintendo. So you shut up. Angry Sun 19:26, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

Now now now. Let's use appropriate language, children. "Your Nanny"

I don't have a nanny so Mary Poppins can go Pop in somewhere else. Angry Sun 21:03, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

Nannies never pop we simply...well actually, we have been known to pop. Cheerio! "Your Nanny"

Optimism is a waste of time, optimists hope for the best so they are constantly disappointed. If we operate under the assumption that this update will glean nothing, no hope will be risen only to be smashed against the rocks of life. Furthermore you do not know for sure if that I am not working for either party, or a time traveler. Anubiz 19:30, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

It's a fact. You don't work for anyone.

WHEN A SITE STATES WE WILL GET NEW INFO! WE WILL GET NEW INFO! Angry Sun 19:33, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

Philosophy? On Wikipedia? You, sir, just lost the game. Comrade Pajitnov 19:45, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

Who me? Angry Sun 19:48, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

No, not you, Anubiz. Anyway, Anubiz, this has nothing to do with philosophy, and you have no clue what's going to happen. If people want to get excited, let them. Also, calm down Angry Sun. You may be the Angry Sun, but that's no reason to freak out. Comrade Pajitnov 19:51, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

Ahh yes...I have a bit of a short temper... Angry Sun 21:05, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

(Sarcastically) Uh, yeah, because this is a REAL reason to lose your temper. "Your Nanny" Wilipeda is for nutralidy and of the to of us Anry Sun I an closer to acheavng it. Anubiz 19:57, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

I'm sorry, but what is "Wilipeda"? Comrade Pajitnov 19:58, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
He means Wikipedia, and, please, no personal attacks. Joiz A. Shmo 20:03, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
I'm sorry, I just couldn't resist :D Comrade Pajitnov 20:04, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

Wikipedia is not a forum. Anubiz 20:07, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

Hahahahaha, that's funny. Anyway, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't just shut down the site for kicks, and there's most likely some new information coming our way. Take your pessimism somewhere else where they'll accept it; try LiveJournal. Comrade Pajitnov 20:12, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

I think that it should be mentioned in the External links, though. Next to the official site, write in parenthesis (currently not viewable until next week [or something like that, so that viewers can know about it). Doesn't have to mentioned in the article itself, but in the External links, probably. magiciandude 20:48, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

Done. You can change it if you can do better. Joiz A. Shmo 21:16, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

Very well then. Anubiz 21:03, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

Alright, cool. My suggestion came out pretty nifty, huh? :) magiciandude 21:47, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for keeping people like me posted guys. I finally got to see it and wow...I 'bout wet my pants. New info on the horizon...no one would count down to bad news. Wow, should adjustments be made in the article since the old smash bros dojo along with character bios, music, and trailers are, at the moment, inaccessable? (I tried 'em and they don't work)(Zojo 21:57, 15 May 2007 (UTC))

Sorry...my bad. When I first saw the article I didn't see that ya'll had put it was offline til 5/21. Sorry (Zojo 22:24, 15 May 2007 (UTC))

Hey guys! If you go to [www.nintendo.com nintendo.com], you'll notice it says "A major update is on the way to the official Super Smash Bros. Brawl website. Keep your eye on the countdown clock!". Looks like there will be news after all. Which means, I think that this might (if it's worth considering still), go under the development section. magiciandude 02:01, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

"major update" might not mean new info. It could mean they're just giving the site a makeover or something. I say we play it by ear. 75.153.231.20 17:00, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

Sakurai said in the japanese site that he will likely reveal all the characters shortly before the release of the game. A week countdown to the official site (in English and Japanese) has to be big news. It could be him revealing the characters. This is probably too much of speculation to put in the article even with a direct quote from Sakurai? Yeah, probably. It's just five days. It's not a long wait for real information. (Zojo 22:25, 16 May 2007 (UTC))

I'd just be prepared for all the edits this article will get when the site is relaunched, presumably with new information. I do agree a major site update could just be a redesign, but why have that countdown for that? I'd anticipate new characters and/or more on 'Super Smash' moves. Anyone not busy when it happens? Please supervise this article.Tuesday42 00:29, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

I will be able to supervise on the day it relaunches Cocopopz2005 00:37, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

When do you think they'll have it up that day?Marioman12 01:22, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

If you're in the U.S., it'll probably be sometime between 8am and noon, assuming they update it right when it becomes Monday in Japan. I'd double check that, though.Tuesday42 02:46, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
if you're in tyhe UK, the number has been changing in the evening, so i guess the site will launch monday evening. Djchallis 08:30, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

I would bet my life it'll be a revelation to lots of new info. The article won't go through a radical change though. Just what's going to happen to this article when the games comes out. (Zojo 13:59, 17 May 2007 (UTC))

I don't know if this helps with the exact time issue but it's 10 AM here in the east coast right now and the site still says 5 days left. It should be 4 today, right? (Zojo 14:04, 17 May 2007 (UTC))

I think what we got to understand is that this page as it has been for the past year was a "preview" page, laid out and structured nothing like the articles for the previous two games, so in the event of a revelation of info this page would likely need to be completely rehauled. Supposing the game features over 30 characters, we shouldn't have thirty sections in the Confirmed Characters section. Erik Jensen (Appreciate|Laugh At) 16:22, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

ERIK HAS SPOKEN! Anubiz 16:30, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

Uh, thanks. Erik Jensen (Appreciate|Laugh At) 16:34, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

The "confirmed characters" shouldn't be there to begin with. Its going to have to be removed (or moved here) and eventually be replaced with gameplay details. FMF|contact 16:35, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

Nine, we should keep the characters or at least the new ones. Anubiz 16:38, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

If this article is to reach higher status, that cannot be done. FMF|contact 16:46, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

I believe this conversation to be put on puss until the game is actually out. Anubiz 16:51, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

Erik is right, but even if there is a ton of new info, the game will still be unreleased and the article will, for the most part, keep it's current structure due to that. If there are too many characters announced, we'll create that seperate article, and have the characters section be a summary.Tuesday42 20:17, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

can we please archive this page and start a significant one over? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 65.95.71.207 (talk) 18:47, 15 May 2007 (UTC).

I think we have to wate. Anubiz 19:13, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, let's at least wait until we have the new info (which should be by next week). Master Strike 19:58, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

Please? This one is so cluttered with insigificant things, it makes this page confusing.76.64.62.253 18:43, 16 May 2007 (UTC)The dark revenge

Leats wate untill later. Anubiz 19:10, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

I dont want to wate because wate is no a word.65.95.71.36 21:55, 16 May 2007 (UTC)The dark revenge

please don't make personal attacks regarding a wikipedian's ability to spell. all comments made on this page should be on the subject of the page and not on the subject of each other. Djchallis 22:05, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

Anubiz has that problem (no offense to you Anubiz). Dan't hassle him about his spelling. Makes me angry. (Zojo 22:27, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

I think Anubiz has to learn how to spell because I can't read his typing. Marioman12 01:20, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

Uh, remember that this topic is about archiving this page (which I don't think is a good idea) not about discussing Anubiz's spelling. Unknownlight 03:11, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

There's no reason to wait because news will be coming out soon; it's time to be archived. The page is too long. --myselfalso 04:39, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

Let wait four days, until we know this update is a bust or not. Anubiz 13:06, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
