The New South Wales Crime Commission is a statutory corporation which is established pursuant to the New South Wales Crime Commission Act 1985. This Act of Parliament was initially assented to as the State Drug Crime Commission Act. The main objectives of the New South Wales Crime Commission is to reduce the occurrence of illegal drug trafficking. An additional objective is to reduce the occurrence of organised and other crime. Recently the New South Wales Crime Commission has also taken on a charter of assisting with the investigation of terrorism related offences. The Board of the New South Wales Crime Commission consists of the Minister for Police David Campbell, the Commissioner of Police Ken Moroney, and the Commissioner of the New South Wales Crime Commission.
