George Lowther, was a writer, producer, director in the earliest days of radio and television. He was a scriptwriter for the Superman radio progrms on the Mutual Radio Network (1940's), and author of "The Adventures of Superman," 1942.

He wrote the radio series for "Dick Tracey," "[Terry and the Pirates]," and "The Superman Series." He also wrote scripts for the "Roy Rogers" and "Tom Mix" radio programs. In later years, he wrote, produced and directed many programs for "U.S. Steel Hour" and "Armstrong Circle Theater," and also wrote for "The Edge of Night." He was also the first page boy at NBC.
