License tagging for Image:Dunbar Magnet Middle School.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Dunbar Magnet Middle School.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Thank you for taking the time to create this article. I wikified it and created an article for J.R. Booker using your information. LilMane, you seem to be creating school articles by simply copying information from their websites, like the article for Gibbs Magnet School of Foreign Languages and International Studies, with content copied from here. We can't really accept that kind of content, as it is copyrighted and the authors would have to relicense it under the GFDL. Can you rewrite the pages in question? If not, they should probably be prodded.--Kchase02 T 06:49, 8 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

In addition to your repeated copyright violations, several polite requests have been issued requesting that you cite reliable sources when alleging affiliation of a living person with a criminal organization. These requests, which have been made repeatedly, have been completely ignored now for several months. Please observe these requests, as they are a matter of policy, and note that if you should happen to repeat either one of these actions, I am afraid that your account will be blocked in an effort to obtain your attention in this matter. Please use Edit Summary

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary text box

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field, especially for big edits or when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you. --Geniac 12:31, 8 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect

Should User:LilMane's talk page be redirecting here? It does, but it's not clear why. Rklawton 18:26, 10 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I agree it's not clear why; there's no reason given on the user page or this talk page. [1] says LilMane initiated it (?). (The edit of mine was just to fix what was a redirect to a redirect). I say the redirect should be removed especially since LilMane is still an active editor [2]. If there are no objections (I'm thinking of the users involved, in particular) and nobody does it sooner, I'll do it in a few hours. --Geniac 13:06, 11 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I've removed the redirect from the user page and talk page and posted questions and comments about the redirect to the talk page. --Geniac 13:07, 12 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Family Guy Birth Years

Why are you adding birth years to Family Guy characters. Some are just plain illogical like Stewie being born in 2005 which means he was -6 years old when Family Guy started in 1999. Most cartoons use a rolling calendar so that characters are always the age they are supposed to be. This means that in 2006, Bart Simpsons birthday would have been born in 1996 but in 1996, his birth years was 1986. I am going to revert your changes and please don't reinsert them without explanation. Gdo01 02:14, 10 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Lois' religion and sexuality

Please do not put Lois Griffin’s religion as being Protestant as this has not yet been verified. Also, her sexuality is best described as bi- sexual, so don’t remove the category tag. In future read the discussion page before you make edits .--Baronjim 21:58, 10 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Seriously, edit summaries

I have noted that you often edit without an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This is considered an important guideline in Wikipedia. Even a short summary is better than no summary. An edit summary is even more important if you delete any text; otherwise, people may think you're being sneaky. Also, mentioning one change but not another one can be misleading to someone who finds the other one more important; add "and misc." to cover the other change(s). Thanks! November 2006

I have a question for you.

Hello LilMane, Did you add information about Yung Joc being related to Young Jeezy? If so then please be aware that I erased it. The information is false. These two men are not related. Yung Joc has even stated himself, "You know what, everybody wants to know that and I don't know why they just won't let people be their own. Why I gotta be related to somebody? Me and Jeezy are cool, that's my homie but there's no relation just blood in the game." [3] If I "stepped on your feet" I am sorry and I mean no disrespect, however I feel that BET is a more credible website than the website on which your information is based. There is no doubting my information, seeing as how Yung Joc was the one who answered the question himself. If this was not you that added the information, then I apologise. Your edit to Craig Anton

Your recent contribution(s) to Wikipedia are very much appreciated. However, you did not provide references or sources for your information. Keeping Wikipedia accurate and verifiable is very important, and as you might be aware there is currently a drive to improve the quality of Wikipedia by encouraging editors to cite the sources they used when adding content. If sources are left unreferenced, it may count as original research, which is not allowed. Can you provide in the article specific references to any books, articles, websites or other reliable sources that will allow people to verify the content in the article? You can use a citation method listed at inline citations that best suits each article. Thanks! --MCB 18:51, 2 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

And you got this idea where? Even if the school SOMETIMES calls itself that, the school is primairly "Little Rock Central High School" - DO NOT MOVE THIS TO "Central International Studies High School" EVER AGAIN.

If you really want to, you can put up a move request. But I can tell you RIGHT NOW it will be defeated.

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Mann Arts and Science Magnet Middle School, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at its talk page. Removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, but the article may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria. Hello! Johnny L. Banks, Jr. is not the appropriate place to post information about yourself, because it is in the part of Wikipedia where encyclopaedic articles are written. A "userpage" at User:LilMane, however, is available for personal information about yourself. When adding personal information please remember that Wikipedia is not myspace. Your userpage is for anything that is compatible with the Wikipedia project. It is a mistake to think of it as a homepage: Wikipedia is not a blog, webspace provider, or social networking site. Editors that don't provide an edit summary tend to look like vandals

I have noticed you commonly don't enter an edit summary. This causes me problems. When I patrol for vandalism, I use the summary to make a preliminary decision on whether or not the post is a vandal edit or not. If the summary is present (or at least a section header, the part inside the /* */), I commonly decide the edit is legit and move on.

However, if no edit summary is available, I typically resort to loading the diff for the edit. This takes time. For that reason, if your edits are all valid, I ask that you provide edit summaries. For more on how to enter an edit summary, please read Help:Edit summary.

Incidentally, it is not just me that appreciate having edit summaries. When you omit your summary, you may be telling various bots that you are vandalizing pages. For this reason, please consider providing that summary. It is very important.

The edit summary appears in black italics in the following places: * Use the enhanced watchlist to see all recent changes in the watched pages, not just the last change in each page.

Notability of Souljia Boy

A tag has been placed on Souljia Boy, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (below the existing db tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. SatyrTN (talk | contribs) 07:09, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
