Naniwa is an old name of Osaka, Osaka prefecture, Japan. It is still used in some modern contexts. For example, license plates of automobiles registered in the city of Osaka display "Naniwa" whereas those registered in Osaka Prefecture but outside of the city display "Osaka."

Naniwa is also the name for a ward in Osaka.
