Damu Ridas

The Damu Ridas (actual name was the Bloods) was the group name of an assortment of L.A. Denver Lane Bloods and Crenshaw Mafia gang members from the South Central Los Angeles and Inglewood area which recorded the Bloods and Crips collaboration album, Bangin' on Wax. When the Bangin' on Wax sagas were made, the Bloods gang member formed the group.

Nowadays, most of the members of Damu Ridas are now in jail or dead.

History

The two gangs who originally made up the Damu Ridas were Denver Lane Bloods and Crenshaw Mafia. They are known to have been allies and family in the streets for a long time, known as the Mafia Denvers or Mafia Lanes.

  • B-Brazy was from 109th Street & Figueroa Avenue, (Denver Lane Blood Hood), he was shot and killed by an Los Angeles Mexican gang he was set up by an Latina female member of that gang and was shot and left for dead on May 9th, 2003, in a Inglewood hotel room on the 800 Block of W. Manchester Blvd.
  • Lil Laniak 2 also was from 109th Street & Figueroa Avenue, Denver Lane Blood Hood, one day he was walkin with his kid, and was shot and killed by another Blood gang from Compton (also known as Bompton in Blood-Talk), Campanella Park Bompton Pirus. After this, there was a small line drawn between Bloods and Pirus.
  • Peanut 2 was from 106th Street & Figueroa Avenue. He was killed by an unknown gang.
  • Lil' Hawk is from 104th Street & Century Boulevard, Inglewood. He was from a Blood gang called "Crenshaw Mafia" and was another popular rapper in the Damu Ridas group. Right now to this day he is in prison serving 25 to life. Word on the streets is that he was snitched on by an older gang-members for shooting at the police.
  • G-Spider was also from 104th Street & Century Boulevard, Inglewood. He also claimed "Crenshaw Mafia". G-Spider was killed by a Mexican gang called "Figro 18th Street" from Figueroa Avenue, in South Central LA.
  • Tip-Toe was another respected member of 104th Street & Century Boulevard, (Crenshaw Mafia Bloods). He Was killed by another Blood gang from Inglewood, the Neighbor-Hood Pirus, and with this killinh, the wedge between Bloods and Pirus became bigger.

Members who are still alive or not in jail are: Big Wy, Suga Buga, G-Len, June Dawg, Green Eyez, Red-Rum and Lil Leak.

  • Damu means Blood in Swahili.
  • The difference between Damus and Pirus can be seen by colors. Damus wear bright red, and most of the Pirus sport burgundy red.
