Megumi Kawamura (河村めぐみ; Kawamura Megumi, born July 12,1983 in Kitakyushu, Fukuoka Prefecture) is a Japanese model and former volleyball player. She is the tallest model in Japan.

Nicknamed Megu, she was a member of the national team that won the bronze medal at the 2001 World Grand Champions Cup playing center position for NEC Red Rockets. Wearing number 10 and 15, she stayed with the team until her retirement on August 30, 2005.

Biography

Born in Kitakyushu, Fukuoka, she studied at Higashi Kyushu Ryukoku High School(東九州龍谷高等学校) and was a member of the volleyball team there. After finishing high school, she joined the volleyball team NEC Red Rockets. She was called up to the Japanese national team and played in the 2001 World Grand Champions Cup.

After retiring, Kawamura began her modeling career.

  • When she was 11 years old, she was featured in at TV show as the Japan's tallest primary schoolchild.[1]
