Tomokazu Seki
Tomokazu Seki (関 智一, Seki Tomokazu, born September 8,1972) is a popular voice actor (seiyū) in Japan.
Some of his most notable roles include Gundam characters Domon Kasshu and Yzak Joule, Sohma Kyo, Toya Kinomoto, Sakura Kinomoto's older brother in Cardcaptor Sakura, Van Fanel from The Vision of Escaflowne and Ken Hidaka from Weiss Kreuz alongside Koyasu Takehito, Hiro Yuuki, and Shinichiro Miki. His most recent role is Shi Ryuuki in Saiunkoku Monogatari (ongoing anime series).
He is considered very versatile in his industry and has portrayed a wide variety of characters, ranging from comical to dramatic. Very often, the characters he voiced have very comical sides to their seriousness, such as Sagara Sousuke in the Full Metal Panic series and Toji Suzuhara in Neon Genesis Evangelion.
According to the sixth volume of Genshiken, Seki builds models, such as Gunpla, and figures.
He was born in Tokyo and his blood type is AB. He works for Haikyou.

Trivia
- Often, Seki has been involved with projects that have included members of the Weiss Kreuz band, in some cases resulted in interaction between the characters portrayed. One very striking example occurs in Neon Genesis Evangelion, with Seki as Toji Suzuhara, and Koyasu Takehito and Yuuki Hiro as the two male operators of MAGI, Aoba Shigeru (Koyasu) and Hyuuga Makoto (Yuuki).
- Seki and Shinichiro Miki are reportedly good friends, with their first collaborations happening even before Weiss Kruez. While Seki voiced Toya Kinomoto in Cardcaptor Sakura, Miki portrayed an incarnation of the same character in Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE. He and Miki are the voices behind Sousuke Sagara and Kurz Weber in Full Metal Panic.
- In the Fate/stay night anime series, Seki and Shinichiro Miki reunite, with Seki voicing Gilgamesh and Miki voicing Assassin. Gilgamesh's introduction in episode 19 is just moments after Assassin's death.
- The same occurrence can be said with fellow seiyū Megumi Ogata, who voices Yukito Tsukishiro in Cardcaptor Sakura, where their characters share a close relationship. Their characters are good friends again in Evangelion with Ogata as Shinji Ikari and enemies in GetBackers with Seki as Natsuhiko Miroku and Ogata as Clayman, plus a mother-and-son (albeit somewhat close to Oedipal) relationship in Great Teacher Onizuka with Seki as Kunio Murai and Ogata as his young mother Julia. In the drama CD version of Samurai X, they voiced enemies-turned-good friends (Megumi as Himura Kenshin and Tomokazu as Sagara Sanosuke).
- This close friends/comrades relationship is also found with his works with Ishida Akira. In Gundam Seed, both men voiced elite pilots of ZAFT (with Tomokazu as Yzak Joule and Akira as Athrun Zala). In the anime version of Nana, both voiced band members of Blast (Akira voices Shin while Tomokazu does Nobu). In Neon Genesis Evangelion, though their characters have no dialogue together, both are chosen as pilots of the Evangelions. Also coincidentally, both men once voiced the same character (though in different settings): Satoshi Hiwatari in D.N.Angel. (Tomokazu voiced Satoshi in the drama CD while Akira was Satoshi's voice in the anime version.)
- He has at least 2 roles whereby his character is a rival of the character voiced by Hoshi Soichiro: In Gundam Seed, Yzak Jule (Tomokazu) was once slashed by Kira Yamato (Soichiro); in the drama CD version of D.N Angel, Soichiro voices Niwa Daisuke while Tomokazu voices Hiwatari Satoshi; in Groove Adventure Rave, Seki is the Rave Master Haru Glory while Hoshi is the franchise's primary antagonist and Haru's extreme opposite Lucia Raregroove.
- To the unwary, he is sometimes mistaken for Toshihiko Seki (They have the same surname but are unrelated.).
- He's also well known in the business as a heavy smoker; he sometimes uses the habit to roughen his voice if his character requires it.
- Has starred in two anime where he is the final antagonist to be fought and desires a character voiced by Ayako Kawasumi
- In Gate Keepers, he, as Reiji Kageyama, actually succeeds in turning Kawasumi's Ruriko Ikusawa, against the protagonists, though whether he merely desired her power or he had some feelings for her is ambiguous.
- In Fate/stay night, however, he clearly has romantic feelings, albeit extremely possesive and unrequited, for Kawasumi's Saber. Also, unlike his previous role, he is unable to convince her to join him, or rather, to accept his wedding proposal.
- In both Genshiken and Nodame Cantabile, he plays a romantic interest/lover to a character portrayed by Ayako Kawasumi. In Genshiken, Seki is Tanaka and Kawasumi is Ohno, while in Nodame Cantabile, Seki is Chiaki and Kawasumi is Nodame.
