Wikipedia:WikiProject on XFFs
Appearance
←Administration index | XFF project (en-Wikipedia chapter) |
The multiwiki XFF project seeks to mimimize collateral damage due to blocks of users that use a single IP ISPs. When thousands of users share the same IP via their ISP, such blocks can be very disruptive. ISPs that report trustworthy XFF headers can be added to the trusted XFF provider list by a developer. The client IP of such headers will be treated as the user's actual IP, allowing for precise blocks of users operating under the ISP.

Instructions
Place requests under the Current requests section. A user with CheckUser access will either confirm the ISP as trusted or not. Trusted IPs will be added via developer request and cleared from this page. Denied requests will be archived. Use the following format when adding new requests:
=== <The IP address> === {| class="wikitable" |- | Provider | <Provider name> |- | Reverse DNS | <Reverse DNS result> |- | Block log | ([{{fullurl:Special:Log/block|page=user:IP}} block log]) |}
Current requests
Add new requests to the top of this section.

- Not done I am getting this as N3 Service provider with no reverse DNS. However searching for N3 Service provide gives me this[1]. However it is not listed as using these IPS. Also, this[2] suggests that they moved. At any rate, the XFF headers given by 194.176.105.39 don't seem useful for making blocks (I'm seeing private IPs listed). Voice-of-All 13:07, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
