Caledon Hockley is the fictional villain of James Cameron's 1997 blockbuster Titanic. He is played by American actor Billy Zane. An American steel tycoon who was on the maiden voyage of the Titanic from Southampton to New York City in order to marry his younger fiancee, Rose DeWitt Bukater. However, along the way, Rose met a friendly bum, Jack Dawson, and fell in love with him. Caledon became furious and he locked Jack in the bowels of the ship. However, just as this is taking place, the ship hits a massive iceberg and begins to sink. Caledon escapes the disaster unharmed, but his sidekick Spicer Lovejoy did not. Caledon finally married and inherited his millions. But in 1929, the Wall Street crash hit his interest hard, and he put a pistol in his mouth that year, utterly disgraced.
