Jack Dawson is the fictional hero of James Cameron's 1997 blockbuster Titanic. In the movie, he was played by American actor Leonardo DiCaprio. According to canon, Dawson was born in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin in 1893. When he was 15, his parents died and he started to travel the world by himself. His travels took him to many places, like Los Angeles and Paris. For unknown reasons, on April 10, 1912 he and his friend Fabrizio De Rossi were in Southampton, England. It just so happened that the R.M.S. Titanic was leaving that morning. Him and Fabrizio won two tickets in poker game, and they managed to get on shortly before the Titanic left. It was on this tremendous ship that he met wealthy beauty Rose DeWitt Bukater, who was engaged to Caledon Hockley, an arrogant steel magnate. Rose and Jack fell in love after Jack stopped Rose from commiting suicide. However, one night, the Titanic hit a large iceberg in the North Atlantic, and the ship began to sink. After the ship had sunk, Rose and Jack clung onto a piece of driftwood for many hours until the cold of the air and water finally killed Jack.
