My name is Brontoraptor. I also go by the name of Oshron(OH-shron) or Oshronosaurus(oh-SHRON-o-SAUR-us), derived from the name of an old Maple Story character, "O Shrouded One". "Oshron" is what I use for just anything, like YouTube or FileUPYOURS, and "Oshronosaurus" is what I use for anything dinosaur or prehistory related.

Name Derivation

"Brontoraptor" is actually an invalid dinosaur name that means "thundering theif". "Oshron", which is derived from "O Shrouded One", is taken from a line in Final Fantasy VI, in which the character Locke Cole refers to Shadow as "O Shrouded One" on the way to Crescent Island.

My Interests

I like dinosaurs, some kinds of anime, a good, funny movie, sci-fi, fantasy, and so on.

My Occupation

While I refuse to say what job I may or may not have for privacy's sake, I will say that I am a writer. I've been working on my books since the early '00s, and have been refining them ever since. They include such characters as Princess Keiko, Prince Roy, Will Kaine, Drei Mangamma, and Anima. The stories range from feudal Japan to the fictional South Kingdom to the Andromeda Galaxy to the fictional Tangerine City and finally to Predieval Earth, a fictional world where dinosaurs still live.

My Role-Playing Games

As a member of Jurassic Park Legacy since February 2006, I have participated in and started numerous role-playing games. The first notable one is Jurassic Park Legacy RPG, a sub-parody of the first Jurassic Park film, in which my character(Oshronosaurus, referred to as "Osh") and numerous others of other users play roles in the Isla Nublar Incident instead of Dr. Alan Grant and company. There were also two, less successful sequels based on The Lost World: Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park 3, known as JPLRPG II: The Lost World and JPLRPG III: Extinction. There was a third sequel as well, which had undead dinosaurs called "muertasaurs" which never got off the ground. But by far the most successful RPG that I started was Prehistoric Park (v02), an RPG loosely based on Prehistoric Park, an ITV series starring Nigel Marven.

Jurassic Park Legacy I

This RPG was based on the first Jurassic Park film. It took place in 2006 instead of 1993, since thats when the RPG began, and has every animal confirmed to be on Isla Nublar according to the research of those at Jurassic Park Legacy as well as one extra from the novel by Michael Crichton, making a total of sixteen species. The sequences in which Dennis Nedry and Robert Muldoon are not witnessed or even written in the RPG, but implied because the participants knew the film inside and out.

Characters

  • Oshronosaurus: a sixteen-year-old, nearsighted boy commonly referred to as Osh. He is based on a real person, but his roles in the RPG are based on those of Alan Grant and Ellie Sattler in the sense that he helps save a few of the people from the Tyrannosaurus, tries to figure out the Triceratops' sickness, and also turns on the generator. He returns in the first sequel and has a brief appearance in the second one, but returns again in the third sequel.
  • DinoSlayer: a 23-year-old man from Finland commonly referred to as DS. He is one of the older memebers of the group whose arm is dislocated in the rex attack on the Explorers and is also injured by the juvenile tyrannosaur later on, nearly being killed. He returns in a cameo-type role in the first sequel and again in a more important role in the second sequel.
  • T-Rex Master: a sixteen-year-old boy commonly referred to as TRM. He role is somewhat similar to that of Ian Malcolm in the sense that he is injured in the rex attack and does not journey through the park with the rest of the tour group. He eventually found his way back to the Visitor Center, encountering dinosaurs like Compsognathus and Triceratops along the way.
  • Aldaway: an adult man from Washington, D.C., who came to endorse the park, but was also told by Ozwell E. Spencer to steal a sample of DX from the laboratories on Nublar. While the group is examining the sick Triceratops, he tries to detonate a bomb he had set on a power generator in order to escape the island. When it fails, he flees into the jungle, eventually swiping the Jeep Wrangler that Dennis Nedry had stolen and trying to get to the helicopter pad. However, he is startled by the juvenile tyrannosaur and falls off a cliff onto the beach, breaking his neck. Before Isla Nublar is destroyed by the Costa Rican air force, Albert Wesker comes in a helicopter and takes the DX sample for himself, then leaves for Rockfort Island.

Bestiary

Differences from the Film

  • there are many more people who come to the park to endorse it(approximately 13), and most of them are children, whereas, in the film, it was only three adults and two children
  • there are two tyrannosaurs kept in the same paddock like in the novel by Michael Crichton, and both attack the group; in the film, only one did
  • when the Gallimimus stampede, it is a group of Metriacanthosaurus that attack them instead of a Tyrannosaurus
  • the cause of the Triceratops illness is not discovered
  • after Oshronosaurus turns on the power, he discovers a number of 9mm pistols in a metal box, and he and the rest of the group use these to kill several velociraptors and an adult Dilophosaurus
  • the group sees more dinosaurs on the tour than in the film, but Dilophosaurus is not witnessed until it is seen by Aldaway when he steals a Jeep Wrangler, and then later when the rest of the group is attacked by an adult dilophosaur in the visitor center

Jurassic Park Legacy II: The Lost World

This RPG was based on the second Jurassic Park film. Like the film, it takes place four years after the previous one, putting it in 2010. Again, every animal to be confirmed in the southeastern section of Isla Sorna is present, though many are just in brief cameo-type roles. The sequence of Dieter Stark's death is left out completely, but his body his later found by Gabriel Diaz.

Characters

  • Oshronosaurus: Osh returned in this RPG as a leader-type character for the Gatherer Group and an archrival of Peter Ludlow. His roles are mostly similar to that of Ian Malcolm, but he is not present for the tyrannosaur attack on the trailers and is the one who tranquilizes the bull rex in San Diego.
  • Rose: the only woman in the group, she is the grumpiest of them all. She usually calls people "Baka", which apparently means "stupid", and usually acts tough and can handle herself. She takes on roles of Sarah Harding in a few places, as she is in the trailers when they are attacked and helps to patch up the infant tyrannosaur's leg. She is injured when the trailers are attacking, nearly breaking her leg.

Bestiary

Differences from the Film

  • the character of Ajay Sidhu is dropped entirely and replaced by Danny Sherwood(a.k.a. DiloRex), who says that Ajay is his cousin after another person mistakenly calls him Danny Sidhu
  • there are many more dinosaurs present in San Diego while the bull rex is rampaging, including a pack of compys, a large Triceratops, and a group of Pachycephalosaurus
  • Oshronosaurus, who generally replaces Ian Malcolm, is not present for the rex attack on the trailer
  • Gabriel Diaz replaces Eddie Carr in rescuing Rose, JurassicMatt, and Dilophoraptor Rex before the trailers fall over a cliff and is attacked and severely injured by the parent tyrannosaurs. However, unlike Eddie in the film, he does not die.
  • Eddie Carr does not go to Isla Sorna at all and is still alive at the end, suggesting a possible appearance later.
  • the deleted scenes for the film in which Roland Tembo gets in a bar fight and Peter Ludlow accidentally steps on the infant tyrannosaur's leg while drunk are included
  • Danny Sherwood, who replaces Ajay, is not killed by velociraptors like his movie counterpart, but is instead saved by Forge Utah

Jurassic Park Legacy III: Extinction

Characters

  • Dr. Danny Richardson: known as DiloRex in the first one, Danny Sherwood in the second, Danny returns once more in the second sequel. This time, he is a paleontologist who comes into the possession of a Velociraptor resonating chamber like Alan Grant did in the film. He is hired as a guide for the Kirbys on their trip to Isla Sorna, but is knocked out when he begins objecting to landing on the island. When they are ambushed by a pack of Velociraptor sornaensis, Danny uses the resonating chamber to distract the raptors, which are then scared off by helicopter rotors.
  • DinoSlayer: DS returns in a more important role in the second sequel. He and his friend Matt Gramer are with Matt's sister, Anne, who is suffering from cancer. When they find out that an adventurer named Paul Kirby is willing to pay them to act as guides on Isla Sorna, they are more than willing to accept. DS takes on the roles of Alan Grant, having a dream in which he sees a velociraptor on the plane ride to Sorna, becoming seperated from the group and meeting with Eric Kirby, and later almost drops the raptor eggs into the river. At the climactic river scene where they are attacked by the Spinosaurus, he climbs to the top of a crane(instead of Paul Kirby) and distracts the spino, throwing a beaker of T. rex pee into the spino's mouth, which makes it retreat. He is almost killed when he falls from the crane, but luckily survives.
  • Rose: Rose returns to Isla Sorna with her brother Jake. She has lied to her brother(who she refers to as "Niisan") since the San Diego Incident, of which he is oblivious.
  • Matt Gramer: DinoSlayer's best friend. (MORE LATER)
  • Jake: Rose's geologist brother. He always thought that Isla Sorna was a restricted zone because of freak weather patterns, but soon finds out that it is because of the dinosaurs on the island. He partly takes on the role of Billy Brennan because he is the one who steals the velociraptor eggs in the hopes that they would be able to get the money that the Kirby's had owed them, mainly for Anne Gramer's operation and for funding for Dr. Richardson's fossil dig.

Bestiary

Differences from the Film

  • in the Rex vs. Spino fight scene, the tyrannosaur is not killed. Instead, it's eye is ripped out by one of the spinosaur's claws and it retreats.
  • it is revealed that the parasail operators were killed by Pteranodon sternbergi, not Pteranodon hippocratesi or Spinosaurus
  • there is a fight between a male Velociraptor and a Dilophosaurus, in which the raptor wins
  • many of the embryos and fetuses seen in the embryonics administration are named and identified as things like Ornithomimus and Deinonychus, though they are not in the film
  • many more species of dinosaur that were not in the film, but were in previous ones or not in any film at all, appeared, including Muttaburrasaurus, Pachycephalosaurus, Baryonyx, Allosaurus, and Herrerasaurus.

Prehistoric Park (v02)

By far the most successful RPG that I've ever started, it has gathered more pages than all of the JPLRPGs combined. It is loosely based on the Prehistoric Park television series in the sense that Nigel and his team go back on far more expeditions and bring back far more animals than in the series.

Residents of Prehistoric Park

Dinosaurs
  • three Allosaurus: two allosaurs were brought back from Jurassic Wyoming, a mother and child. The mother was named Alice, and the young allosaur was named Tiny Tim because he was only the size of a dog when he first arrived in the park. He has since grown to the size of a dump truck. Another allosaur, this time an A. atrox, was recently brought back from Tanzania and was named Abeni. She was brought back to be the mate of Tim.
  • one male Ornitholestes: this coelurosaur, named Oliver, was the very first arrival in the park. He is actually quite intelligent and friendly.
  • 21 Compsognathus: seven of these were initially brought back from Jurassic Germany, but 3 of those have been killed since for various reasons. They bred recently, and there are now 21 in the park. They were originally kept in the greenhouse, but they grew to larger sizes and were given a new paddock near the visitor center. They are by far some of the most troublesome animals in the park.
  • one male Dacentrurus: one of these was lured back to the park from Germany. It was named Dann prior to a shutdown disaster.
  • a herd of Draconyx: 27 of these iguanodontids were chased through the portal from Jurassic Germany by a Megalosaurus. They were the first animals in the park to breed, and there is now a population of 34.
  • one male Dracopelta: one of these nodosaurs came back with the Draconyx herd. It was informally named Wyvern by head keeper Bob Arthur.
  • one large male Megalosaurus: a male Megalosaurus wandered through the portal while Nigel and his team were in Germany. He was sedated and named Marty. Marty has caused a lot of trouble in the park, including breaking out of his paddock, flipping over a jeep and killing a worker, and fighting Alice the Allosaurus during the shutdown sequence.
  • one Alamosaurus: one of these sauropods was brought back from Montana. It was a fluke of migration that it was there; alamosaurs didn't live in Montana.
  • a flock of Ornithomimus: 16 of these ostrich-like dinosaurs were brought back from Montana. Six eggs hatched, making a total in-park population of 22, but two eggs were rejected by their mother. Head keeper Bob took them in, and now the hatchlings follow him wherever they go. The hatchlings are named Flotsam and Jetsam.
  • five Stygimoloch: these herbivores were brought back from Montana
  • six Parksosaurus: these herbivores were brought back from Montana
  • one male Triceratops: like in the series, a single Triceratops was brought back from Montana and, like in the series, was named Theo.
  • eight Dromaeosaurus: four dromaeosaurs, one male and three females, were brought back from Montana and have become a favorite dinosaur of ranger Jack Denham. The adult male is named Drew, the dominant female is named Cassie, and the two lesser females are Bindi(after Steve Irwin's daughter) and Jane. Jack developed a special bond with the "dromas"(they are called such as to limit confusion, because Velociraptors are planned later), having shows and demonstrations and even going into their paddock to observe them. Five eggs were laid by Cassie, but only four hatched. One droma chick broke its leg, but was recently returned to its parents.
  • two Tyrannosaurus rex: just as the meteor that caused the mass extinction hit the Yucatan Peninsula, Nigel used meat from a sandwich to lure two baby tyrannosaurs back to the park, just like in the series. Also like the series, they were named Terrence and Matilda. Because of sibling squabbles, Terrence was moved to a new paddock across from T-Rex Hill called "Terrence's Hideaway".
  • one female Liliensternus: before Nigel left Triassic Switzerland, he noticed a nest on the beach. He took one of the eggs in it back to the park. Months later, it hatched into a female Liliensternus. Since, it has grown into a juvenile and moved into a paddock with the Compsognathus group. It was discovered that the Liliensternus was actually agoraphobic and refused to leave the verterinary station, where it had spent its entire life until then. However, it was eventually integrated into the Coelurosaur Paddock.
  • two Cryolophosaurus: because of their unique characteristics, Nigel decided to bring back Antarctica's only named theropod. While in Jurassic Antarctica, Jack Denham brought along an MP3 player to listen to songs by Elvis Presley. Surprisingly, the cryolophosaurs that they encountered like Elvis' music! Two were brought back and, since they liked Elvis music and because they were once nicknamed "Elvisaurus", were appropriately named Elvis and Priscilla. Despite being dinosaurs, they came from a rater cold environment, and, because of overheating problems, were moved into the Pleistocene Exhbit.
  • one male "Pseudodilophosaurus denhamii": when Nigel and his team went to Antarctica, they encountered a strange species of Dilophosaurus that was apparently an archenemy of Cryolophosaurus. One that had been severely injured by a pair of cryolophosaurs was brought back and appropriately named Goulet, after Robert Goulet, since the cryolophosaurs(a.k.a. "Elvisaurs) extremely disliked it. Because it isn't a true dilophosaur, it was "Pseudodilophosaurus".
  • a group of Dryosaurus: a group of five Dryosaurus lettowvorbecki were herded back through the portal from Jurassic Tanzania. They are currently kept in the Free-Range Paddock in the north end of the park.
  • a single "Posotsyntarsus africana": head of security Robert Muldoon tranquilized and captured an animal very similar to Syntarsus. However, it wasn't a true megapnosaur; a real syntarsus lived in the Early Jurassic; this one was found in the Late Jurassic.
Non-Dinosaur Reptiles and Amphibians
  • eight Nothosaurus: three of these crocodile-like reptiles were brought back from Switzerland and are the only marine reptiles to have bred so far. One male is named Norman, and another was recently named Scooter.
  • one Tanystropheus
  • one Cymbospondylus
  • one Proterogyrinus: it was tranquilized in Carboniferous Kansas and is currently kept in its own section of the greenhouse
  • three Dimetrodon: two adult Dimetrodons, a male and female, were brought back from Permian Texas. Despite a squabble in the Permian, they became fast friends. Also brought back was a hatchling dimetrodon and two dimetrodon eggs.
  • one Seymouria: one of these amphibians followed Nigel through the portal because he had been carrying some Dimetrodon eggs in his pocket. It was quickly transferred to the greenhouse.
  • three Edaphosaurus: two adults and one juvenile were brought back. The juvenile's legs were crushed in a stampede, but has been recovering well.
Birds
  • one male Phorusrhacos: a single terror bird was brought back from Paraguay. It was named Phil by head keeper Bob Arthur. Before arriving in the park, Phil killed a ranger by severing his spine with his beak, and once dug out of his paddock, an unexpected behavior.
  • one male Teratornis: one teratorn was brought back from California by ranger Jack Denham. It was named Rocco by Bob, and lives in the primary aviary of the park. Since Jack tied him up in California, Rocco seems to extremely dislike him. He also tried attacking Jack during the shutdown, but Jack was saved by the dromaeosaurs, who came to his rescue, which resulted in Rocco's wing being broken and his throat nearly being ripped out. Miraculously, Rocco survived.
Mammals
  • a family of Macrauchenia: a mother, father, and child of this primitive camel was brought back from Paraguay. They use their trunks in a similar fashion to an elephant.
  • one Doedicurus: one of these armadillos was brought back. The only problem thus far is that it attacked Sid the Megatherium for unknown reasons
  • one male Megatherium: one of these ground sloths was brought back from Paraguay. It was appropriately named Sid afer the comical ground sloth from Ice Age.
  • a family of Didelphodon: a mother, father, and their litter of ten were brought back from Montana. They were originall kept in a display in the visitor center, but have since been moved to a large, free-range paddock in the north end of the park.
  • two Smilodon fatalis: based on the two Smilodons in the series, these two predators were brought back from Pleistocene California(specifically, the La Brea Tar Pits). They were put in the Pleistocene Exhibit, a special indoor section of the park that is specially cooled for Ice Age animals. The two were named Sabrina(the name of the female saber-tooth in the series according to the ITV website) and Diego(after the saber-tooth from Ice Age. They were aggressive towards each other to begin with, but eventually became good friends.
  • eleven Homotherium: three scimitar cats were brought back from California, and eight cubs were born recently. The original three were a male and two females, named Sam, Susan, and Saba(after the famous big cat specialist that appeared in the series).
  • one female Miracionyx: one of these cheetah-like cats was brought back from California. Nigel named the cat Eshe. One visitor once remarked that it should'nt be in the park because cheetahs are still around, but Jack Denham corrected her by saying that it was an American cheetah and actually more similar to a cougar. Nigel mistakenly identified it as such in California as it crept up on some pronghorns.
  • one male Ursus spelaeus: while exploring a cave in Pleistocene Siberia, Nigel unknowingly disturbed a cave bear. It chased him and Dr. Danny Richardson, the head vet, up a tree. Rangers arrived and sedated the bear, whichwas then brought back to the park. Nigel appropriately named him Smokey.
  • one female Mammuthus primigenius: Nigel and his team found a mammoth in Siberia that had been injured by Cro-Magnon hunters, and was brought back to the park. She was named Martha(after the mammoth in the series) and is currently kept in the Pleistocene Exhibit.
  • one male Elasmotherium: while on a second trip to Siberia to gather Ice Age plants for a starving Martha, Jack Denham encountered a large, male mammoth in musth and an Elasmotherium. He barely escaped both and managed to lure the rhino back into the park(it was nearly extinct at the time) as well as bring back the plant samples.
Arthropods
  • one "Megalorachne muldoonii": when Nigel and his team went back to Carboniferous Kansas, they encountered a HUGE species of spider that wasn't in the fossil record. Head of security Robert Muldoon tranquilized it so that it could be captured. This is why Nigel named the spider "Megalorachne muldoonii": "Muldoon's giant spider". The spider is really almost exactly like a modern tarantula, except that it's as big as a man's head and extremely poisonous. It is currently kept in the greenhouse in a glass container.
  • one Meganeura: one of these giant dragonflies was captured in Kansas
  • one male Arthropleura: one of these giant millipedes was brought back from Kansas. It is a favorite animal of head keeper Bob Arthur, who named the insect Arthur.
Modern Animals

The land that Prehistoric Park is on was originally owned by a bankrupt wildlife preserve. When they finally cleared out and sold the area to Nigel, they left behind a number of animals:

  • a group of Nile crocodiles that live in a lake near the visitor center. The largest male is named Henry.
  • a herd of African elephants that live near the Triceratops paddock. The herd is all females and includes six adults and one baby.
  • Openbill storks live wild in the area
  • rats live wild in the area
  • various small birds live wild in the area
  • a cheetah that is the sole survivor of an original three. The other two died.
  • two pet macaws owned by Nigel, which are kept in the Primary Aviary in a small cage
  • a pet chameleon owned by Nigel, which is kept in a cage in his office
  • an Egyptian cobra was found by ranger Jack Denham near the visitor center. It is kept in a display on the second floor of the visitor center.
  • Coelocanths are kept in a large tank in the visitor center
  • several nautilus are kept in a large tank in the visitor center

Animals Not Brought Back

  • Liopleurodon: not identified. One of these marine predators attacked and killed a Megalosaurus in a style similar to that seen in the opening of the third episode of Walking with Dinosaurs.
  • Plateosaurus: these are seen in Triassic Switzerland
  • an unidentified species of Swiss coelurosaur: these are seen trotting along the Swiss beach in the Triassic. Their formal identification(by me) is Coelurosaurus bernensis
  • Peteinosaurus: these pterosaurs are seen in Switzerland
  • Toxodon: a herd of these mammals are seen in Paragauy
  • Smilodon populator: these saber-toothed cats are seen in Paraguay fighting Phorusrhacos
  • Torosaurus: a herd of these are seen in Cretaceous Montana
  • Anatotitan: a herd of these are seen in Cretaceous Montana
  • Edmontosaurus: a herd of these are seen in Cretaceous Montana
  • Petrolacosaurus: this cat-sized lizard is seen in Carboniferous Kansas
  • an unidentified species of polar coelurosaur: these carnivores are seen in the forests of Jurassic Antarctica. Their formal identification is "Waimanusaurus manneringi".
  • an unidentified species of polar Massospondylus: a herd of these prosauropods lives in Jurassic Antarctica. Their formal identification is ""M. maritimus".
  • an unidentified species of polar Dimorphodon: one of these flies by the head of the male Cryolophosaurus. Its formal identification is D. paradisaea.
  • Ankylosaurus: one of these is seen in Montana. It kills a mother tyrannosaur.

Anomalies in Time?

Ever since Nigel and his team returned from Montana, strange things have happened in the park. Well, stranger than normal in a park with dinosaurs. New, more vicious individuals of Dromaeosaurus have appeared. A pair of Compsognathus attacked a few people. Most recently, a Diplocaulus was found in the Ornitholestes paddock. Could these animals have arrived in the park through lapses in time caused by Nigel's trips into prehistory? If these keep up, it would only be a matter of time before something truly dangerous came through...
