Play Back

When I start to record it, the game starts to lag and when I play the Video it was really laggy. Can someone tell me why?

Wikipedia is NOT a support forum. But anyway, choosing to capture at half-size should yield smoother results. Or if fullscreen is necessary, disabling sound sync can help framerate, but will desynchronyze sound with the video. --Omega Said 20:59, 11 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, exactly. I have experienced horrible lag with my system with these factors turned on. Be sure to turn them off before proceeding. Have a good one, -- Steven Suttles Stone 02:57, 7 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Added external links section, with FRAPS hompage, FAQ and and article on 3D Benchmark Testing with Fraps. Awildman 22:46, 8 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Try a compression

Use windows movie maker, dump the movie in the bin, add it to the time line, and hit finish movie, after that, it should play smoothly!

Oh, i have some images of what fraps looks like in game, and a video, if someone whould tell me whare to post it and you use it to make the wiki look better, also, change the one picture to the fraps logo, not what fraps itself looks like

claim to check

Fraps retail version has a hidden file inside it, blocking the use of wared full version.

Any source for that claim ? Unless properly sourced and checked, I can't say its okay to keep that line. Is he referring to the branding in every copy? Even if that's the content of the file he's referring to, it couldnt possibly block warezed use, as FRAPS does not require online activation. --Omega Said 21:35, 11 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Take a computer you've never installed FRAPS on and install the free version. Now uninstall it and download and install a wared full version. The wared version will not work, no matter what crack you use. --User:Anonymous 5 April 2007 (UTC)

Yes, this as well may be a bug after installation in the processing of Fraps. I have tried what User:Lil Flip246 has said and the retail version proved unsuccessful to work, therefore yielding no progress at all. Keep that in mind, -- Steven Suttles Stone 02:59, 7 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Using sandboxing, 2 temp files remain saved on the HDD, wether FRAPS is kept or removed. A new install attempts to replace those, wich is in this case is not allowed. No crcks would be necessary, since it'd be possible to install it sandboxed then move only the fraps folder out of the sandbox. So no, FRAPS does not have a hidden file that blocks _use_ of warez, only _installation_, confirming this is actually a check from the installer only.
