Endless Love is a 1981 American dramatic/romance film directed by Franco Zeffirelli. The screenplay by Judith Rascoe was adapted from a Scott Spencer novel. The score was composed by Jonathan Tunick.

Plot Summary

Jade Butterfield and David Axelrod (Shields and Hewitt), both teenagers, fall in love with each other. But the passion is perceived as too consuming by Jade's parents. The parents try to stop them from seeing each other. But when that does not work, David burns down their house and is sent away to a mental hospital. That still did not stop him from seeing her. When David got out on parole, he went to look for Jade. But at the end the passion for his first love for her was too strong. Jade had to leave, or this love will kill both of them.
