2008??

I read on this page that detox maybe won't come out until 2008. That's impossible. it's either 2007 or never. I'll explain. Dr. Dre is in music since 1982. The chronic was released in 1992 because he was 10 years in music. He was born in 1965, so when he started he was 17 years old. The chronic 2001 was released in 1999 when he was 17 years in music. so that year excectly the half of his life. detox in 2007 because 25 years in music. there's no special number connected to 2008. (User:Waitingfordresdetox 16:29, 27 May 2007)

Aside from this both footnotes 1 and 2 are supposedly sources, however neither support this theory and one even reinforces the September release date. I'm going to remove the part about 2008. --Mylakerye 00:56, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Rumors

"There have also been rumors that the famous producer had completed the album some time back but was not satisfied with it, and instead sold the beats to former Aftermath Entertainment artist The Game. Dr. Dre wanted to concentrate on producing artists that were on his Aftermath label, such as 50 Cent, Busta Rhymes, Eminem and Eve, which is why he once said he would no longer be working on the album."

This should probably be removed. First of all it is a rumor and second it is an outdated rumor. As part of the first paragraph of the article it implies that he is no longer working on the album when we all know he had has since said it is coming out this year. 153.18.17.22 18:41, 15 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

its impossible to have the humungus list of people expected to be featured on the album . he statet it would have like 12 13 tracks......there are about 30 people listed. on one album?crazy (Mistah James 19:55, 11 May 2007 (UTC))[reply]

Mythicism

Perhaps it shoould be mentioned that this album is near mythical? It's the near equivalent of the Hip-Hop's holy grail...

oh well

Who's the moron that keeps screwing around with the all the references? Please stop.--userxx67.43.133.75 05:26, 23 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Crooked I

I'm going to take the Crooked I reference down because he said he is unsure if he will do ghostwriting due to the track Say Dr. Dre being leaked. So yeah if someone gets mad im sorry. Check this out and see for yourself. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PnZZclpEpXg 75.162.210.163 03:15, 16 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Nah man I don't take it down because it's talking about refrences in music. Just leave as is thanks man I understand why you would want to take it down but it's all good. It's refrences in music, not artist that will make it to Detox. volumesoxxs 03:24, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

I agree with Volumesoxxs. They are just references. --- Efil4tselaer: Resurrected 13:41, 16 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Anybody think?

Does anybody think that Eminem is going to be on the album?

TahoeLT 02:25, 28 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Eminem, eve, busta, 50, and rest of aftermath will probably be on it, the question is will game be on it?
The Game is definetely going to be on it. --- Efil4tselaer (talk · contribs) 23:38, 28 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

According to Busta, Game will indeed be on it --64.7.156.10 05:44, 2 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

the D.O.C. is also working on it with Dre, probably ghostwriting for him. It is doubtful he will rap on there but he will probably be in a skit like he was in the last 2.

Yeah, you're probably right, The D.O.C. can't rap with that voice of his. --- Efil4tselaer (talk · contribs) 16:02, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I heard that the Game was to be replaced by Bishop Lamont, excluding him from the album. Could someone provide a link stating when Busta said Game would be on it? --71.139.192.39 18:07, 15 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Game will be on the album! --- Efil4tselaer 21:00, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Props

Props to whoever cleaned up the 'references' section. --129.97.192.252 15:38, 30 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I had been trying to add the Busta Rhymes's "Just Gettin Warm" reference for a month, and someone kept deleting it, even though it was fine the way I had it. But the references section does look a lot cleaner. Thanks a lot. --71.139.192.39 18:02, 15 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Why

Y do u need a references section its real satisfing that that there was a reference on a song

I don't understand what you're saying. Do you mean people should find out for themselves when listening to the song and it shouldn't be provided here? It's just the site is designed to provide information, and it's purpose is to provide all the information that we have.

Timbaland

Can anyone confirm is Timbaland is going to be a producer on Detox? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Volumesoxxs (talkcontribs) 22:19, 11 April 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Here you go:

Assumed Beats

http://video.google.it/videoplay?docid=-6452279698894935025&q

Probably fake, especially considering two of them are featuring people not on the expected guests and there's a home-made album cover in there

What do you think? Rbastien 03:06, 25 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

dre did say hes tryin to fit everyone hes ever worked with, including surises so the firm n game could be those surprises

I agree, I had a was a bit suspicous when Dre produced the track Hustlers by Nas feat. The Game and wondered if Nas would appear on the album but the whole Firm? now that would be awesome but I really hope MC Ren and the rest of NWA have tracks on Detox as well as some of his collegues from Death Row. But I don't know about those assumed beats but I really hope that Jay-Z, The Firm and Ice Cube have appearances on Detox. Im sure we will find out more as the months go by. Volumesoxxs

Yeah really, some of the artists it says sounds too good to be true. You just need to throw Pac in there and it's complete. And Snoop Dogg, Warren G, and Kurupt on one track would be didactic. Whether the beats are real or not, I actually really like them. Especially the one for Snoop, Warren, and Kurupt. Rbastien 21:24, 25 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I hope Mel-Man is helping out in producing. The guests I hope are on there are Eminem, Timbaland, Snoop, Nate Dogg, NWA, Jay-Z, The Game, Xzibit, Kurupt, and other West Coast rappers. I hope the song with 50 Cent doesn't suck.

I think it would be great if they had some of Eazy-E's material on it cuz Dre still has some of his unreleased work with NWA and I can't wait for the 50 cent collabo because I've only heard them together on one track and I am also looking forward to the collaborations with Jay-Z, Eminem, Kurupt, Snoop, Nate Dogg and hopefully The Firm that would be tight, a D12 collaboration would be great too but even if half those guest don't appear on the album I'll still love it. I'm kinda glad Hittman probably cuz he had way too many raps in 2001 and he could've fit more guest spots in his last album but it was still a great album. Sorry for rambling on but I'm hella excited. Volumesoxxs

I hope that isn't the real tracklisting. I like most of the tracks but this album is so legendary and delayed so freakin long that EVERY SINGLE song needs to be a banger so it outdoes any other album that's come out in recent years. Also in my opinion, Ice Cube should be on a track with Dre and MC Ren only in a throwback to the old N.W.A days. Plz show MC Ren some love. He didn't even rap on the last album. A track with the Firm sounds cool. So does 213. I really don't like 50 Cent but hopefully he will bring his A game and come with some lyrics that are halfway decent and not so annoying. And Jay-Z, what can I say. Not to disrespect him, hes a talented rapper, but I hope he has more to talk about than how much money he has and how great he is. I really don't care if Kurupt is on there. He is an average rapper and never brought much to Dre's other albums. I don't know much about Dre's new proteges but hopefully they are as tight as he says they are and more like Snoop and Em and less like Hittman and all the artists on The ill-fated Aftermath album (Dre's only failure). From what it sounds like, and seeing as Dre said there would only be around 12 tracks, every artist on there(excluding Dre of course) will only have one chance to shine. Lets hope they come with the best they've got.

New Tracklisting

Whoever put the new track listing up needs to have a source. Volumesoxxs

list

"Dr. Dre has said that he wants to try include everyone he has ever worked with on the album, therefore Possible Guest appearances on Detox could include..."

Thats ridiculous. I don't think you realize how many people Dre has worked with. Putting a list of everyone he has ever worked with would list in the hundreds. I'm getting rid of it. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 64.105.137.160 (talk) 05:30, 12 May 2007 (UTC).[reply]

I Put that list on there coz there was already a list on there with some joke names and people he has never worked with so i replaced it with a list of names of people he has worked with. Dre himself said he wants to include everyone he has ever worked with on Detox when he called Power 106. although the list i made may not have been the full list of people he has worked with it wasnt missing that many and i dont think it was missing any that stand any chance of getting on Detox, it did have a good 40 or so names of the rappers he has ever made anything of significance with and who are currently active and are most likely are going to be the people that have guest appearances on Detox - I would be suprised if there is anyone on the final album that i didnt include on that list

dre actually pointed out there would be a surprise guest

There are going to be around 12 songs on the album. If you were going to put everyone he has ever worked with that would be more than 10 people per song. He is obviously not going to include everyone he has ever worked with, just some. And the list you made isn't even half of the people he has worked with.

Yeah it is rumored he is going to work with MC Ren and RBX's new rap group Concrete Criminals for Detox according to the Wiki page of RBX.

As of 2007, RBX is working on a new album, tentatively titled "Unanimous". Also, RBX has recently announced to the staff of Dubcnn (www.dubcnn.com) that he has formed a new group with MC Ren and Big Rocc. The group is called Concrete Criminals and the trio is said to be working on an album. RBX has also stated that he has been working with Dr. Dre on a couple tracks but it is yet known how many or if the tracks are for Detox (album), Unanimous or Concrete Criminals album. volumesoxxs 02:06, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

Also I think Stat Quo should be listed as he stated in an interview he is in L.A working with Dre on Detox. volumesoxxs 10:04, 11 June 2007 (UTC)

We will find out in September or around that time as to who exactly will feature on the album. --- Efil4tselaer: Resurrected 15:20, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mentions in other artists' music

Jay-Z is the latest one to mention this, again i wud add this myself but id probs get the grammar wrong or sumthin ya feel. He did it on the Amy Winehouse Rehab Remix (http://www.defsounds.com/singles/view/1552-amy-winehouse-feat-jay-z-rehab-remix.html) in Jays verse he say: "get the fantom to drop,"place" base snearin out the system, that's how i DETOX".

Boss' Life

When Snoop says "If my nigga's detoxin there's more for me" I think hes just using detox as the verb, getting rid of the marijuana in their system, thus Snoop Dogg will have more weed.

--Memphis10 03:13, 16 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

nah, i think hes sayin that as long as dre is workin on detox, hell still be rappin - NJ Rock

I agree with NJ Rock, it refers to Detox, saying that if Dr. Dre will release Detox, he will be rapping on it too ("there's more for me", more rapping maybe?). --- Efil4tselaer: Resurrected 13:43, 16 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

hes using detox as a pun, since detox is the name of Dre's album to say that if Dre is detoxing there is more weed for him. but i bet Dre isn't really giving up weed, thats just the name of his albumDrumac 05:04, 22 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

All right then, so we all agree that it should stay there as a reference, right? --- Efil4tselaer: Resurrected 14:19, 22 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes it should stay mainly because I put it up and I did my research before I put it on the page so don't worry it is a DETOX reference. volumesoxxs 07:40, 23 June 2007 (UTC)
