Murchison River, Tasmania A river on the West Coast of Tasmania that flows into the Pieman River. It is in the northern section of the West Coast Range. It was dammed by the HEC in its development of the Pieman power development scheme. Lake Murchison is a narrrow lake that lies east of Mount Murchison It lies to the south of Tullah and its upper reaches are well into the Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park
