I have just merged some information here from the Shell Mex House article. However, the two disagreed on two points. The Shell Mex article claimed the hotel opened in 1886 with 800+ rooms, while this article claimed it opened in 1896 with 600+ rooms. Other websites seem to give the 1886/800 figures, so I've gone with those, but anyone who has an authoritative reference would be wise to check and correct the article if necessary. — HaelethTalk13:30, 2 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
