The 2005 Boston Red Sox season came on the heels of their 2004 World Series championship. Not only did the Red Sox win the series after a decades-long drought by sweeping the St. Louis Cardinals in four games, they beat the New York Yankees four games to three in the ALCS after losing the first three games.
