Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Article improvement drive
This week's football improvement drive is part of the WikiProject on Football and is a fortnightly collaboration to improve football (soccer) articles to featured article status. Past collaborations are found on the history page, while removed nominations may be found on the removed nominations page. Previous winners that have gone on to become featured articles can be found at Featured collaborations.
Nomination and voting
Articles to be improved can be nominated by registered users in the "nominations" section below, with an explanation of what work is needed. To nominate an article, you can copy the template that you will below. Please do not nominate articles involved in edit wars. Each Sunday, the article with the most support votes is chosen. Opposing votes are not counted, the nomination is an approval voting. In case of a tie, the candidate that was nominated first wins. Articles need three votes per fortnight to stay on the list. You can vote for as many articles as you like. As with any other vote on Wikipedia, sockpuppets are banned.
Renominating
An article that is removed from the nominations list for failing to receive the required number of votes by the stipulated date cannot be renominated till one month after the date it is moved to the current removed nominations page.

Considerations for nominators and voters
- Giving reasons as to why an article should become the Football AID may convince others to cast their vote.
- Can the wider football community easily contribute to the article? Or is it something only a small number of people will know about?
- Is the article one which you are prepared to work on?
Nominations
- The next project article is to be selected on Sunday June 24.
Please add new nominations at the bottom of this section.
National football team article seems to be rather neglected compared to the football club article, Italy are 4 times World Cup winner and current title holders.

At present this article is little more than a rather jumbled collection of facts and trivia. There is very little solid content about his career as a player and there's only a passing reference to the fact that he was manager at Coventry City for 6 years. Likewise his role at the Professional Footballers Association needs more than one sentence. Daemonic Kangaroo 07:39, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

Bok de Korver was the first Dutch top footballer, and a remarkable personality. He refused to train, because he believed it would give a player an unfair advantage over an opponent, who may not have had the opportunity to train. He never made a foul, or even touched an opponent, because he believed that football players should use creativity, speed and skill. He will have died 50 years ago on October 22nd, and I'm hoping to get the article featured on the Main Page on that day. To this end, I've started a draft version on User:Aecis/Bok de Korver. - Adding pictures (I've found a few, but I don't know their copyright status, so I won't upload them yet)
Needs a bit of cleanup and some expansion, but I reckon this could be a potential featured list with the addition of some more information and perhaps a change of format. WATP (talk) • (contribs) 11:27, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
