The Prelude is Nelly's upcoming fifth studio album, due to be released on September 25, 2007.
It was originally titled N.E.L.L.Y., then it was changed to The Prelude then Saint Louis Spirrutt then back to The Prelude.
Rumoured guests-to-be are Ashanti, St. Lunatics, T.I., Fat Joe, Chingy, Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson & R. Kelly The name of the album has been confirmed on MTV. [1]

Rick Ross has confirmed that he will appear on the album. [2]According to Jermaine Dupri, Nelly is trying to get divas Janet Jackson and Mariah Carey on a track together for his new album[3]
After his success of crossing over with Tim McGraw, Nelly hopes to this time work with none other than Bruce Springsteen. Also Jermaine Dupri has confirmed that he has produced two songs for the project.[4]
Nelly's first single is "Cut It Out" featuring Pimp C and Sean P. The track was produced by Jay E Eppeson. It has been leaked on the internet as of June 26th. You can listen to this track on his myspace page.[5] (if you listen to the track on myspace you can see that the ablum name is "Brass Knuckles").
