Sulayman al-Murshid was sent from France to Syria in order to attribute a bad name to the alawite leadership after the French recieved news that the alawites were growing in Numbers and power thus soon gaining control of the land of syria. Sulayman al-Murshid was not an alawite becuase he never followed the examples of Ali bin abi talab hence the name alawite. Sulayman al-Murshid was born in palestine and was recieving funding from the french when the real alawites recieved information about Sulayman's funding he was than persecuted.
