Willie Adler (born 1976) is one of the two guitarists of the metal band Lamb of God, and is the younger brother of bandmate Chris Adler.

Willie joined the band after Abe Spear, the first guitarist (alongside Mark Morton) left the band. He is well known for an unconventional style of playing which includes odd chord shapes, unique timing patterns, odd rhythms and high usage of his fretting hand pinky finger. He plays mostly the jagged staccato riffs in Lamb of God's songs while Mark Morton plays more of the groove-oriented rhythms. He is described by Lamb of God bassist John Campbell as a "good time guitar player."

Adler has written the songs "Hourglass", "Blood of the Scribe", "Beating on Death's Door" "Ashes of the Wake", and "Again We Rise", among many others in Lamb of God. Adler leaves most of the guitar soloing in Lamb of God to co-guitarist Mark Morton due to his vast knowledge of scales, keys, and modes. Adler is completely self taught at guitar.

Equipment

Willie recently signed a deal with ESP Guitars and has been playing the Eclipse and Explorer models as of late. Before ESP he was endorsed with Framus and also had a deal with Peavey. Adler uses a Mesa/Boogie Mark IV amplifier head through Framus cabinets. In 2007 Willie got a new signature guitar from ESP, which is based on an Eclipse. It has a camouflage finish and a 'neck-thru' body construction and comes around with an Seymour Duncan Jazz Blues and a '59 pickup.

Personal Life

When not touring, writing or recording with Lamb of God, Willie enjoys his downtime at home with his wife, son and dogs; working on the house and cooking. Once, when he was drunk, he had a tattoo done on his stomach that included fried chicken and mashed potatoes.
