Richard Wilson, I DON'T BELIEVE IT!!!!!!OBE (born July 9, 1936) is a Scottish actor and theatre director, best known for playing Victor Meldrew in the popular BBC situation comedy One Foot in the Grave.

He was born as Ian Colquhoun Wilson (or Iain Richard Wilson, according to the Internet Movie Database1) in Greenock, Inverclyde. When he went into acting, he had to change his name because another actor was already called Ian Wilson.
