AFD Comments

Welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your comments. Please note that on Wikipedia, consensus is determined by discussion, not voting, and it is the quality of arguments that counts, not the number of people supporting a position. Consider reading about the deletion policy for a brief overview for the deletion process, and how we decide what to keep and what to delete. We hope you decide to stay and contribute even more. Thank you! ExtraDry 11:22, 12 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You might want to revisit your !vote at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Joint Venture (music); the discography listed in the article was for a different band with the same name (and the band up for deletion was not on that notable label). Precious Roy 14:21, 12 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mobaila

Your comment is spot on; I was busy reading through the Italian stuff - my reading of Italian is not as quick as English or Spanish, and noted that some of the articles don't even mention the company. I guess the old addage "...make sure you spell it right" doesn't apply. :-) Carlossuarez46 18:16, 12 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

SD on Performance Research

I removed the {speedy} notice on Performance Research. The article was proposed for SD once already and refuted; it's already in AfD, so please allow that process to work. Tlesher 18:45, 12 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I gleefully thank you

thanks gleefully for that wonderful barnstar --omtay38 22:13, 12 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Caledonian-Record

Greetings, I was wondering if you could go to this Afd and provide any input possibly? Thanks. --sumnjim talk with me·changes 12:15, 13 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hmmm, well it appears you already commented on it. --sumnjim talk with me·changes 13:40, 13 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've nominated Westwood Mall (Marquette, Michigan), an article you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but in this particular case I do not feel that Westwood Mall (Marquette, Michigan) satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion; I have explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Westwood Mall (Marquette, Michigan) and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Westwood Mall (Marquette, Michigan) during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Ten Pound Hammer(((Broken clamshellsOtter chirps))) 16:21, 13 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

CSD:G4

Just an FYI on usage of G4. I noticed you tagged "4 yo information" as G4, but that only applies where there is a previous AFD (MFD/TFD/etc) discussion that closed "Delete". In this case the article was previously deleted as a speedy deletion, so G4 doesn't apply; you can only use G4 if there has been a discussion. I still deleted the article though as CSD:A7, which is the original deletion reason.--Isotope23 19:21, 13 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Jake Owen

I don't mean for my re-adding the info on the Jake Owen page about Randy Owen to be malicious in any way. I just have seen too many references incorrectly asserting Randy is Jake's father that I think it should be on the page. I found one reference specifically addressing the fact they are unrelated; hopefully this removes the scent of original research. I just really think that this belongs somewhere on that page. Sorry if I'm handling this in a bad way. Spell4yr 19:51, 14 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"Free images?

I have no idea what that means that an image could be replaced by a "free" image, as per the Ashley Monroe image. Can you explain what exactly that is about? Do they mean pics taken at concerts and such?

Vala M 02:01, 15 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

So when did this become an issue on Wiki?

Hi this is an automated message sent to all editors who posted to [[1]] between 07/04/07 and 07/15/07. Due to an editorial error, the Afd wasn't properly logged for all of the usual 5 day period. I have now relisted it. Mike33 05:34, 15 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Could you please remove the <div></div> from your signature? It screws up the {{subst:ab}} template when I close deletion discussions. Ten Pound Hammer(((Broken clamshellsOtter chirps))) 18:52, 15 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about that...should be working right now. ShoesssS Talk 10:14, 16 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello

Just thought that since I see your comments all the time on the Articles for Deletions, I'd drop by and say hi and give you this:

The Dedication Barnstar
For tirelessly giving excellent input as to the proposed deletion of articles. Useight 04:13, 16 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

On the AfD discussion you said that the sources meet WP:RS and WP:V. However, I just checked the sources: Two were articles in the Japan Times that promote the Union. Another was a classified ad, and the final one was an event listing. None of these satisfy WP:RS or WP:V. Please look through the history and check for yourself.

The three remaining sources are duplicates of those on the NUGW page. I don't know if you live, or have lived in Japan, but this person is simply not notable at all, and it appears that Union supporters are stuffing the page with bogus links to make him appear more notable than he actually is. I would like to ask you to reconsider your review of the page. Best regards. -- Sparkzilla talk! 17:02, 16 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sparkzilla, your WP:CANVASS activities are clearly directed to affect voting. This needs to stop. Statisticalregression 17:50, 16 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
TPH. FYI. Sparkzilla is the self-declared publisher of Metropolis magazine, which has included information negative to the union of which Mr Carlet is involved. SZ has been warned-off editing articles relating to his magazine and business interests by many admins in the ongoing discussion here due to his COI and WP:CANVAS activities. Middian

Hey, dude. Thanks for making that wikipedia page for the band Middian. I tried making it once and after a few days, someone deleted it. Someone else tried making it, and it got deleted almost immediately probably. Hopefully, this time it will stay a wikipedia page. Later.

Closing an AfD

Here you closed an AfD. You cant do this, you're not an administrator. Am I right? --Matt57 (talkcontribs) 22:08, 16 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Pages for singles

What is the reason for the new creation of pages for County artists' singles? I feel like that is a waste of effort and space. I mean, some songs that are very notable and well known do deserve pages but not every single, like on Joe Nichols' page, about 1/3 of his songs have articles on them. I mean, some like "Size Matters" just have one paragraph only. I don't think that "Size matters is a single by Joe Nichols" is enough to have an article on the song about. Unless this is some new Wikipedia rule or something like that.

Vala M 14:52, 17 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for explaining, although I don't generally agree with the idea of putting a page for every "notable" song.

Ceremonial Snips (Band) Protection

This band is being marked for notability in being a role model in the Niagara Region by promoting music as an outlet as Welland innovating the Ska Metal sound. The Speedy deletion that you have recommended comes without any reason in the discussion page of the Ceremonial Snips wiki. Further harassment will not be tolerated, as I have asked for information from music journalists across the region to document the information lost in the Bands most recent change in labels.

Thanks for doing your part, though lets have patience.
