Bobby Newcombe

Bobby Wundu Sowa Newcombe (born on August 8, 1979 in Sierra Leone, Africa) is a former NCAA football quarterback for the Nebraska Cornhuskers. As a sophomore in 1998, Newcombe led his team to a 9-4 record in spite of suffering from a knee injury in the first game that would plague him all season long. He led Nebraska in passing yards with 712 and ran for 228 yards as an option quarterback. Newcombe completed 50-of-79 passes while throwing just one interception. He was replaced by Eric Crouch, a Heisman Trophy winner, the following year.

The Hanningfield Reservoir is a large reservoir located in Chelmsford Essex. The 870 acre reservoir is a Site of Special Scientific Interest due to its wildlife and waterfowl population.

James George Thurman (March 15, 1935 - April 14, 2007) An American writer, and Actor best known for his writings for TV gags for the likes of Bob Hope, Bob Newhart, Carol Burnett, and [Dean Martin].

Career

Born in Dallas, Texas but raised in Vicksburg, Michigan, Thurman began his career as a copywriter at various adveertising agencies in New York. With his writing partners Gene Moss, and brother Dave Thurman, he formed his own ad agency, Creative Advertising Stuff. Moss and the Thurman brothers scripted all 125 installments of the 1965 cartoon series Roger Ramjet as well as the puppet comedy series Shrimpenstein, where Thurman voiced the title character.

Johnny Makeover/ Back on Shaq is the 65th and final episode of the TV show Johnny Bravo.

Plot

Johnny Makeover Johnny's show is requested to have a makeover by the hosts of a TV series, Cartoon Makeover. Johnny goes with the changes, which include new outfits and robot neighbor. The changes end up with poor results. Back on Shaq When flirting with a girl at basketball player Shaq's big game, Johnny accedently bumps into Shaq (who's having a bad luck streak). Right when Johnny hits Shaq, Shaq makes the basket. He finds out Johny is good luck and straps him on his back. Then one player straps his new charm on his back to compete. When Johnny has to use the bathroom, Shaq shoots the basket, despite Johnny's absence. He makes the shot and decides he no longer needs Johnny to win.

• Huckleberry Hound and The Blue Falcon, two other Hanna-Barbera characters, were in this episode.
• The Simpsons was parodied twice in this episode, both times in Johnny Makeover. 1. When Johnny was getting new hairdos, one was the blue beahive hairdo worn by Marge Simpson. 2. When the hosts of the makeover show say the robot can turn to a nerdy religous family man, it impersonate Ned Flanders
• Kimmy Gibbler from Full House is also impersonated by the robot, and her name is even said. The Blue Falcon says, or Kimmmy Gibbler from 'Full House.

Educated at University College School, London and at Bryanston School, Blandford, Dorset. 1960 Entered film industry as 3rd assistant editor at Shepperton Studios and worked on Kubrick’s ‘Spartacus’, Lewis Gilbert’s ‘Greengage Summer’ and John Schlesinger’s ‘A Kind of Loving’ amongst others, for editors including Peter Hunt and Reggie Beck. Worked as editor for Anglia TV ‘Survival’ and Granada TV ‘World in Action.

1966 Established Maya Films with James Scott, Adam Barker-Mill and Andrew St. John. Produced and edited ‘Love’s Presentation’, a 30 min. documentary on the work of David Hockney, directed by James Scott. Produced and directed ‘St Christopher’ a 45 min. documentary on children in the care of Rudolf Steiner Schools and the Camphill Village Trust, Botton, Yorkshire. Wrote, produced and directed ‘The War’, a cinema short starring Colin Welland and Eric Burden. (15 min. B&W 35mm Panavision). Wrote and directed ‘Everybody’s an Actor, Shakespeare Said’, a documentary on the work of Joan Littlewood with young people in the East End of London. (35 min. 16mm Eastmancolor).

1970 Wrote and directed 'Private Road' (86 min 35mm Eastmancolor) starring Bruce Robinson, Susan Penhaligon and Michael Feast. Awarded Golden Leopard at Locarno Festival for Best Film.

1972 Governor and Honorary Life Member of British Film Institute and Director of Prodigal Trust, Inner London School's video project. Took piano lessons with Trevor Fisher.

1976 Wrote screenplay 'Double Trouble' published as a novel by Duckworth.

1977 Wrote screenplays for 'The Scotsman' and 'Hero'. After two years preparation directed 'Hero' (82 min 16mm Eastmancolor) for Film Four in ancient Gaelic with actors drawn from a Glasgow youth gang. Official entry Venice Film Festival.

1983 Wrote screenplay for 'Ebb Tide' by Robert Louis Stevenson, to be filmed for Film Four in Sri Lanka starring Harry Dean Stanton and Christopher Lee. Project abandoned when war broke out in that country.

1984 - 88 Resident in Sussex with his two young children, Roland and Ruby.

1989 Wrote and directed 'Blasphemy' for Channel Four 'Despatches'.

1990 Worked in The Special Unit, HMP Barlinnie, Glasgow on various projects including a musical to be staged by prisoners in the jail and the first ever performance by a circus ('Arkaos) in a British Jail. 1993 Advisor to development of Wornington Green Resident's Association Video Project for disadvantaged youth.

1994 Set up and supervised first year of North Kensington Video Drama Project including work for Metropolitan Police 'Scam' scheme and the Youth Enterprise Scheme.

1995 Together with students from the N.K.V.D.P. established Massive Videos at North Kensington Community Centre and worked on the development of Courttia Newland's 'The Scholar'.

1996 - 99 Massive Videos made many short films by and about disadvantaged young people and founded the Portobello Film and video Festival. In Liverpool they established the 'Workhaus' project in a five story building in the city centre and the North X Northwest Film Festival.

2000 Went to Morocco. Lived for a year on a farm near Larache.. Wrote screenplay for 'Lovesways'.

2004 Built house in Mejlaou near Assilah and wrote screenplay for 'Looking for Tomorrow'.

Niedermaier, Inc. is a Chicago-based visual merchandising, display, and furniture company. It was founded in the mid-1960s as an artistic print shop. It has a showroom in the D & D building in New York City and in the Merchandise Mart in Chicago. Its president is Judy Niedermaier. Notable contributing designers are Nate Berkus, Vicente Wolf, Mark Demsky, Carlos Martinez, Luke Wong and Powel-Kleinschmidt. Niedermaier was the company that built the couches for the Oprah Winfrey Show and has provided furniture and displays in various movies including My Super Ex-Girlfriend and Ocean's 13. They have created displays for numerous retail stores, etc. including Nordstrom and Bloomindale's

Francis Menotti

Francis Menotti was born Francis Phelan in 1938 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA in 1938.

Phelan studied at the Goodman Theater in Chicago, and with Lee Strasberg in New York, and participated in the American Shakespeare Festival.

In the mid-1960s, the noted composer Gian Carlo Menotti began working frequently with Phelan, then a young actor and figure skater. Phelan began to appear in many of Gian Carlo Menotti's performances. He appeared as a mime in such Menotti operas as The Medium, The Saint of Bleecker Street and The Egg. The two developed a relationship, and in 1974, Gian Carlo Menotti legally adopted Phelan, whom he called "Chip," as his legal son. Francis Phelan took the last name of Menotti.

On August 24, 1985, Francis Menotti married Malinda Fitler Murphy, the youngest daughter of and Dr. James S. Murphy and Margaretta Fitler Murphy. In 1963, Margaretta Fitler Murphy divorced Dr. Murphy and, one month later, married then-Governor Nelson A. Rockefeller, who became Vice President in 1974. The ceremony was held at Gian Carlo Menotti's home called Yester House in Scotland. Gian Carlo gave Francis and Malinda Yester House, a historic 100-room castle, as a wedding present. With Malinda, Francis Menotti had two children, Claudio and Cosimo. Gian Carlo, Francis, Malinda and their children all lived together in Yester House. Malinda Menotti died suddenly on 24 October, 2005.

Francis is currently best known for his involvement with the Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto, Italy which his father Gian Carlo founded in 1958. As his father aged, Francis became more and more involved in the running of the Festival. Francis eventually came to hold the title of Artistic Director of the Festival in 1999, and also acquired the title of Festival President. However, the love that the organizations that put on the Festival (such as the City of Spoleto and the Festival Foundation) had for Gian Carlo did not transfer to Francis. Tensions arose between the Menotti family and these organizations, and private and corporate funding and attendance at the Spoleto Festival have declined significantly under the leadership of Francis. In his will, Gian Carlo bequeathed the Festival to Francis; however, immediately after the death of Gian Carlo in February of 2007, when full ownership was acquired by Francis, efforts to ouster Francis from the positions of President and Artistic Director became explicit and forceful.

Mission

iMentor's mission is to improve the lives of young people from underserved communities in New York City through technology-based approaches to youth mentoring and education. iMentor uses mentoring to bridge the divide between New York City’s diverse communities so that mentees are equipped with the skills and resources critical for (1) personal, (2) academic, and (3) career success.

iMentor demonstrates that (1) even the busiest New Yorkers have time to be quality mentors and that (2) formal mentoring programs can flourish in NYC's most isolated, low-income, and underserved communities. iMentor uses mentoring to bridge the divide between New York City's eclectic communities, creating unique and dynamic relationships that would not have been possible without the program. By exposing both mentors and mentees to new facets of their shared city, iMentor makes and facilitates meaningful connections, empowering youth with the skills and resources critical for personal, academic and career success.

Origins - History

iMentor was founded in 1999 by hedge-fund manager John Griffin (Blue Ridge Capital), and two civil rights attorneys, Rich Buery and Matt Klein. The program began with 49 students in one school in the South Bronx. In just over seven years of operation, iMentor has provided mentors to more than 2,000 young people from over 30 NYC schools and after school programs. This year, iMentor will connect 700 high school-aged youth (mentees) one-to-one with volunteer adult mentors. Every mentor-mentee pair cultivates their relationship using iMentor's combination of weekly email correspondence and regular in-person meetings.

iMentor was created to solve two major problems faced by young people in under-served communities:

• Lack of mentors

• Lack of technology literacy

Millions of youth nationwide are in need of mentors and do not have them. In addition, schools and after school programs serving under-resourced communities struggle to develop strategies for using computers and the Internet as effective educational tools. Educators need training and support in using technology to improve the lives of their students. iMentor’s strategies address both problems.

Adam Allen

Adam Allen is son of Douglas Allen and Yolanda (deLeon)Allen. He was born on the first day of April in 1980. His father Douglas is a notable artist in the Great Salt Lake Valley, he has art work in several local exbits and his artwork is also featured in the Chicago Art Mesuem. Yolanda Allen has work as a Homemaker and Pharmisist for the past 26 years. Adam Allen is the third of four children (two older brothers and one younger sister)

The North American Communist Party, also known simply as the NACP is an emerging political party started with members from Washington, Georgia Texas, and Califorinia. The head of the party at this time is Lord Edward from Seattle Washington. The aim of this party is to bring true communism into the light of everyday political discussions, as well as lift the veil,and stigma that has been placed upon it since the Soviet era. The name "Anika" is German, Dutch, or Danish and is the pet name of "Anna", meaning gracious or merciful. Not to be confused with the much more common "Annika", Anika is pronounced with a soft "a" at the beginning, sounding like "AH-nih-kuh" rather than "AA-nih-kuh". (Annika is Dutch, Swedish or Finnish, and has the same meaning as Anika does). Anika is related to Anja, Anya, Anita, Anna, Annika, and Anne. Other sources note that Anika means literally "little Anne", because the suffix "-ika" in many Scandinavian languages means "little" (much like "-ito/a" in Spanish).
