Shen Jiaben

Shen Jiaben (沈家本, 1840-1913). Late Qing Chinese scholar and jurist from Wuxing in Zhejiang province. Shen was in charge of the 1905 revision of the Qing Code, abolishing several cruel punishments such as "slow slicing" (lingchi).
