"No Hay Igual" (English: "There's No Equal") is a song written by Canadian singer Nelly Furtado, Tim "Timbaland" Mosley, Nate "Danja" Hills and Nisan Stewart, and produced by Timbaland, Danja and Stewart for Furtado's third album Loose (2006). Sung mostly in Spanish, it was released in Latin America as the album's second single, and in the United States to digital music stores on April 18 2006 (see 2006 in music). It was the album's first club single.
The single's video was filmed on June 26 2006 in Sector La Perla, San Juan with reggaeton singer René Pérez (AKA Residente) of the Puerto Rican reggaeton duo Calle 13. Pérez said that the single gave Furtado and Calle 13 the chance to become more popular in Europe, a goal of particular interest for Furtado because she is from a Portuguese family.[1] The video was directed by Israel Lugo and Gabriel Coss, photographed by Sonnel Velazquez and produced by María Estades.[2] It was released on September 6 through Furtado's official MySpace page,[3] and its television premiere was on MTV Tr3s on September 4.[citation needed]
