The house

Is the opening shot of the farmhouse in some episodes based on a famous painting? There's this painting in my grandparents' house that looks almost exactly like that opening shot.

dilung

Does anyone know anything about the character "dilung"? I never saw him on the show and google doesn't have any results.

I've never heard of him. Considering I've seen virtually every Courage episode, he can't be a very important character if I've never heard of him, and probably shouldn't have his own subsection. I believe he's the oriental character in certain episodes, known for his catchphrase "Watch where you're going... ya foo!" I didn't realize he actually had a name... ChewyLSB 03:44, 21 December 2005 (UTC)

dilung has a stung souteast asian accent, has black hair, sunglasses, an genreally skinny features as well as rather large lips. although i had never seen him referrred to by the name dilung, i recognized the character by the signature line "watch where ya going ya foo".

"Tv.com" lists his name as "Di Lung", so I changed it.

Episodic villains

Recently, villians exclusively from the episode The Tower of Doctor Zalost have been added to this article. If we got into episodic villains, the article could become extremely large. Perhaps we should split it into an article "Episodic villians from Courage the Cowardly Dog"? Disorganization

It may be just me, but this article seems a little disorganized and confusing. For example, the "Production" section seems like a collection of trivia and fun facts (which are arranged confusingly and come back at each other). The section about Eustace wanders all over the place, going from talking about his personality to discussing the voice actors and then returning to his personality. Farm Dog

I have seen a series of paper back books called Courgious The Cowerdly Farm Dog or something similar. Both the book and this show have a similar premis, they both came out at I think the same time but I cant find anything saying if this show is based of the books or vice versa. --WisK 02:11, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

Tenesse Williams reference

Quote from trivia section: "If something frustrates Eustace, he frequently leaves the house. Muriel catches him and asks where he is going. He responds,"I'm going to the picture show."". Courage and Flag semaphore

I seem to remember courage using flag semaphore quite a bit, the clearest memory is from that episode where there's a theif with split personality (looking back at the list of episodes, I think it's "Family Business"). Does he use it in enough episodes for the article (or the characters article) to say he uses semaphore often, several or many times? If so, it should also be added to the "references in fiction" subtitle of the Semaphore article. Not sure what to make of this strange paragraph

"A fifth season was considered on this show but was never made. Eustace Bagge is derived from Useless Bag (Indeed, his deceased brother Horace, during one of Eustace's flashbacks calls him "Useless") because he treats Muriel like a slave and only thinks of himself, in a similar manner to an abusive husband. Bad Hair Day (Season 2, Episode 8) is mainly a spoof of Michael Crichton's 1978 mystery film Coma. Many of the episodes have classical music playing in the background when certain situations occur. There is a song "Courage the Cowardly Dog" by They Might Be Giants. Notable people have guest-starred, such as Ringo Starr, Tim Curry, and Jim Cummings. In one of the older Cartoon Network Fridays, Muriel is shown hosting the Fridays. Muriel is the daughter of a pig-farmer (Craig Bartlett) and a poor old tailor who eats cows (Unseen Characters) In The Shadow of Courage, Courage takes the form of a burglar, trying to tell Eustace and Muriel that somebody is there, that same burglar was a character in Family Business, a second season episode. The beginning of The Magic Tree of Nowhere is a spoof on the fairy tale Jack and the Beanstalk. The tree growing scene at the beginning is also a reference to the beanstalk growing scene in Mickey and the Beanstalk. At one point, there were plans to be a movie based upon the series when it ended, but the concept was eventually dropped. At one point, there was a music video featuring Courage on Cartoon Network that was sung by They Might Be Giants. In one episode featuring a zombie antagonist named Benton Tarantella, a reference is probably made to Mike Lazzo. Tarantella is said to be a criminal partnered with another zombie named Lazzo. In a plot to kill the Bagges, Tarantella pretends to be shooting a show about the lives of them, much like reality television. Near the end of the episode, Tarantella is saying to Lazzo on his cell phone, "It will be a huge hit, Lazzo!" In this same episode, in the end, you see the Courage and Muriel watching the movie they made (with the changes Courage made). You can see at the end of it, when you see Courage hitting the ground where he buried the zombies. If you look closely, you can see that that scene resembles another one in a later episode named "feast of the bullfrogs"."

As of right now, I've deleted it from the article, unless there's some reason for it to be there. For whatever reason, it was placed under "Production," which makes no sense to me. Frankly I think most of the paragraph should just be eliminated completely since it largely consists of random anecdotes from various episodes, although a few pieces of information could be salvaged and put in appropriate context as opposed to being mashed into this paragraph.--Foot Dragoon 23:53, 21 October 2006 (UTC)

New Season or not?

It says here that it is currently unknown if it is in production again. But then on Perfect (Courage the Cowardly Dog) it says that Perfect was the series finale but that new episodes are to be shown in the summer of 2007. I know there are alot of petitions for another season, but I don't know. Courage the Cowardly Dog does rerun currently at 10:00 pm, but could that be a sign that it will soon show new episodes?? Hope is fine, but we shouldn't let it compromise the integrity of the article. Unless we have a reliable source to cite, anything we'd say would be in violation of policy. Banned Episode

I've never heard about this episode being banned. It's still on, so if there was a ban at some point, it's been lifted. I can't imagine why it would be banned, though. ~ Oni Lukos _ct 00:24, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

Are you sure? My cousin has claimed to see "The Clutching Foot", but he's never seen "King Ramses' Curse". Well, I believe that the creepier/scarier episodes (i.e. "The House of Discontent" and "Windmill Vandals") were not banned. But didn't this episode bother anyone at all? I could've sworn this episode was banned at some point in time.
