I'm not really sure whether you can characterise the perception that Glebe has a "bohemian atmosphere" as POV. Personally, I don't think there's anything negative or derogatory in that statement. In any case, it's fair to say that the perception exists, so I think that can reported, at least, in an NPOV manner.
On a second note, Wikipedia:Captions prefers the use of full and informative sentences as captions. Lacrimosus 01:36, 4 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- Well, I yield on the second point unreservedly. I basically thought this article was starting to sound like an ad for Village Backpackers. The Bohemian thing in NPOV terms would be 'Bohemian by reputation' - I have never found Glebe remotely Bohemian, but agree that some people think so. IMHO there are fewer Bohemians, artists etc around than in, say, Erskineville.XmarkX 01:51, 4 Mar 2005 (UTC)
True. I'm hoping the article will be expanded significantly in the future, so we can get as accurate a portrayal as possible. Lacrimosus 01:54, 4 Mar 2005 (UTC)
Good to see i'm not the only one who fails to see it's apparent "bohemian atmosphere" CheeseLover July 3, 2005 13:21 (UTC)
I don't know wether this is a good idea or not, but I'd like to see some inclusion of historical references to families and experiences in Glebe. For instance some references to war time Glebe and the use of Wentworth Park as an army base etc. My mother grew up in this area and had related many stories and information about the area to me. I agree about the historical info, but the trouble is where to get it. I grew up in Glebe myself but I never heard about war-time experiences etc.
