Black Summer is a 7 issue comic book series written by Warren Ellis and illustrated by Juan Jose Ryp. Published by Avatar Press, the plot concerns the consequences of a superhero, John Horus, killing the President of the United States.

The Seven Guns

The Seven Guns are posthumans. Their abilities are somewhat vague, but they seem to have access to some kind of radiotelepathy and an enhanced nervous system.

John Horus: possibly the leader. His "gun" is a swarm of eye-like devices, which apparently allow flight, possibly produce a force field and allow energy projection. Dresses in white, clothes resemble an officer's outfit from the US Civil War, but with Masonic symbols, or Eye of Ra sigils.

Tom Noir: crippled, missing his left leg below the knee.

Angel One:

Dominic:

Kathy Artemis:

Laura Tarrant: deceased. Killed in the same explosion that took Tom's leg.
