Heidi Montag
Heidi Montag (born September 15 1986) is an immature cast member from the MTV reality television series The Hills. In the summer of 2005, MTV began filming the lives of Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County's Lauren Conrad's college friends for her Laguna Beach spin-off reality show.[1]Montag became famous for sharing an apartment with Conrad whilst studying at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in Los Angeles, California. Montag left the Fashion Institute in autumn of 2005 when she was hired as an intern at Bolthouse Productions.[2] According to Montag, she dropped out because she "did not find the school challenging".[3] Within two years Montag was promoted from intern to event planner at Bolthouse, and she has no plans to return to fashion school.[citation needed]
Personal life
Montag began dating Jordan Eubanks in 2005 and their relationship was featured on season one of The Hills. Montag broke off her relationship with Eubanks in the spring of 2006, a move which she has described as "the best decision of [her] life" and "something that she should have done earlier".[4]
Since the summer of 2006, Montag has been dating Spencer Pratt.[5] Pratt, friend and manager of Brody Jenner, met Montag through Jenner's then girlfriend, Laguna Beach's Kristin Cavallari. Season two of The Hills (which aired from January through April of 2007) focused on Montag's relationship with Pratt and its effect on her friendships with Conrad and Patridge.[5] On The Hills' season two finale, Montag moved out of her apartment with steady roommate Conrad to live with Pratt.[5] As of May 2007, Montag is engaged to Pratt. [1] There have been reports that MTV has cast the couple in a new season of Newlyweds, formerly starring Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey. [2]
According to an interview with Montag in February of 2007, she "no longer spends as much time going out to nightclubs" and has been "keeping a low profile and being responsible".[6] As of March 2007, Montag has reportedly given up drinking alcohol.[7]
[8] In April 2007, she had a breast augmentation (C implants) and rhinoplasty in the Beverly Hills office of plastic surgeon Dr. Frank Ryan.[9]
Career
Montag's reality TV career began with a few appearances on season two of MTV's Laguna Beach.[10] Her friendship with Conrad led to a featured role in The Hills,[11] which premiered on May 31, 2006.[12] Montag appeared in every episode of seasons one and two of the show. She will return for season three, which is set to debut on MTV in the summer of 2007.[13] The nature of Montag's role in future seasons of The Hills is unclear, since she is no longer living with Conrad.[5] Despite her major role on the show, she did not appear on The Hills: Finale After Party, broadcast live from MTV's New York headquarters or The Hills: MTV Canada Finale After Show (filmed at MTV's Toronto studios).[14] At The Hills: MTV Canada Finale After Show, Audrina Patridge made it public that she no longer speaks with or sees Montag.[15]
Montag signed on with Pratt's INNOVATORmanagement company.[7][16] As of February, 2007, she is working on recording an album with producer David Foster (Jenner's step-father).[17] She describes the sound as "very fun, fresh, sexy . . . the David Hasselhoff - meets - Liza Minelli meets - Butthole Surfers, with a dose of Tupac and Biggie."[17] Montag danced as a child, thus reportedly plans to do "a lot of performing" in connection with the album. Additionally, she indicates that a lot of her songs "will be very sexual."[17] On her personal MySpace page, Montag listed herself as one her favorite recording artists.[18]Heidi is not making a record with award winning producer David Foster. It is well known by David Foster and his office that they are not aware of such thing. In the end it is Spencer Pratt that knows he is able to use David Foster's name and likeness because of the strong relationship with David Foster's stepson Brody Jenner.
Montag has discussed taking acting classes, saying she hopes The Hills will help her jumpstart a film career.[19] She has expressed a desire to have appearances in "some movies" in addition to "a couple of hit albums" in her lifetime.[11]
Saturday Night Magazine featured an interview with Montag and a multi-page photo spread in February of 2007.[6] In March of 2007, Stuff magazine featured Montag in a revealing eight-page pictorial and online video. She spoke to US Magazine regarding the Stuff magazine photo shoot, saying she was "nervous for her first sexy photo spread".[17] However, she was also "excited to show a side of [herself] that people don't get a chance to see just watching The Hills."
