Drake & Josh is a Nickelodeon sitcom which starred Drake Bell as Drake Parker and Josh Peck as Josh Nichols. Both stars are from The Amanda Show, and from movies, as is Nancy Sullivan, who played Audrey Parker-Nichols. Miranda Cosgrove played Drake and Josh's sister Megan Parker and Jonathan Goldstein played Walter Nichols, their father. The show debuted on January 11, 2004.

Theme song

The theme song for the show was "I Found a Way", written by Drake Bell and Michael Corcoran. The song is performed by Drake Bell. A split-second shot of Bell singing the theme song from one episode in season one is seen in the opening sequence for seasons one and two, whilst another filmed version remains for season 3, and another for season 4. The song can also be found on the show's official soundtrack: I Found A Way, as well as on Drake's album "Telegraph", and an acoustic set of the song on Drake's newest CD "It's Only Time"

Characters

Drake Bell plays Drake Parker, Josh Peck plays Josh Nichols, and Miranda Cosgrove plays Megan Parker.

Main characters

Drake is a popular teenager and a gifted musician, but his ignorance and stupidity is a running gag in the series. He has had more than 75 girlfriends and calls his step dad Walter, which he picked up from Megan. Also, he seems to have new band members every season. Drake is very talented in music and has written many songs. He is favored by Helen DuBois, the manager of the movie theater, due to Helen thinking Drake did all of Josh's hard work when they both worked in the movie theater, as well as his good looks. Drake does not excel in his studies and has a more laid-back perspective on life.
Josh generally serves as the comedic foil to Drake and Megan. Though highly intelligent, he is not as socially adept as Drake. While Drake is quite popular, the best Josh can do is be "almost cool." Mindy Crenshaw is his girlfriend. He's also known for having an oversized head and frequent rashes. He appears to be allergic to many things, such as cats and cheeseballs. He is extremely paranoid, especially when dealing with Megan. Megan pranks more on him than on Drake. He is also,in the first season, considered a nerd.
Megan is the boys' younger sister (Drake's biological sister) who enjoys antagonizing them (usually Josh is the more frequent victim of her pranks than Drake does). It is rare that her older brothers get the better of her. She likes to call her brothers "boobs", as in the insult, and calls her stepfather "Walter" instead of "dad," a habit Drake later picked up. Megan has incredible intelligence, being able to invent and create plans to humiliate her brothers. Many of these plans are helped by the high-tech equipment Megan inexplicably owns. Megan enjoys the misery of her brothers but she occasionally saves them from others' insults, reason being she doesn't like anyone but herself hurting her brothers. She's astoundingly cruel and petty for no given reason as to date. She is cunning and evil to her brothers, although her parents think that she is a sweet, innocent little girl. Unfortunately, there was never an episode where Drake & Josh could get revenge on her. They have tried many times, and thought they succeeded once, by tricking Megan into believing aliens were coming, and then actually dressing up as aliens, but Megan seemed to know about their plan, as she had a friend dress as an alien, which scared Drake & Josh so much, that they broke down the garden fence to escape.
Walter is Josh's father and Audrey is Drake's and Megan's mother. Josh's father is a weather man who often is wrong about the weather. His rival is Bruce Winchill. Walter is often clumsy, out of date, even seemingly empty-headed (for example, he believed the Titanic to be a "fake" ship), and as a result lacks a strict handle on Drake and Josh. He likes to sit on the couch and read cat magazines. He also threw up after he asked Audrey out. Audrey is a lot smarter, up to date, and on the ball than Walter and has a better handle on the kids, too, although she is completely oblivious to Megan's evil personality. Walter seems to realize Megan's true form in Seasons 3 and 4.

Recurring characters

Eric Blonnowitz and Craig Ramirez are two stereotypical "nerdy" honor students that are always being exploited by Drake and Josh, mostly due to Drake's hare-brained schemes. The character of Eric was introduced before the character of Craig; Eric has made more appearances in the show than Craig has. Eric is seen in the crowd at the fight, in the first episode of the series. Both characters have been mentioned as being Jewish. Even though Josh takes advantage of them as much as Drake does, in the episode "Josh Runs into Oprah", Josh, Craig, and Eric are seen as being good friends. (Despite Josh not being stated as "unpopular", anymore) Starting with the episode, "The Demonator," Eric appears more often than Craig (Eric appeared in 2 out of the last 3 episodes of the show's third season, Craig appeared in 1. Out of the 10 episodes aired so far in Season 4, Eric has appeared in 6 of them and Craig has appeared in 5.). It is also revealed in the episode, "Eric Punches Drake," that Eric is a pacifist. A running gag beginning in the episode "Alien Invasion" is that Drake is always confusing Craig with Eric, and vice versa. Eric, in particular, is always being called Craig, much to his annoyance. It is stated in one episode that they have been best friends since they were seven years old.
Helen Dubuois was introduced in "Movie Job" as the manager at The Premiere Theater, a movie theater where Josh (and formerly Drake) has a job. She was originally played by Susan Payne, an actress who later on quit the show due to financial problems. Later on she was replaced by Yvette Nicole Brown. Helen is known for her intimidation factor. Her loud voice and orders for her employees, namely Josh, are examples. While Helen is not particularly fond of Josh (though she does get him a birthday present – a nose hair clipper), she seems to adore Drake, even saying in one episode, "Drake Parker, I love you like the son I never wanted." Helen was once a child actress, as mentioned in the episode "Helen's Surgery," in the (fictional) show Happy Times. Primarily played by Yvette Nicole Brown, the character was briefly played by Frances Callier in the episode "Little Diva." Also, in the "The Drake and Josh Inn" episode, Helen is said to have a "lazy eye". This was noticed while Helen was singing on MTV even though she was supposed to be helping Drake and Josh get the people out of their house, when the crew arrived, she says "Well, I do love the music television". She got married in Drake & Josh: Really Big Shrimp.
Mindy Crenshaw was introduced in season two as Josh's fiercest "enemy"; she had beaten Josh at their school's Science Fair every year. However, in her next appearance ("Mindy's Back"), the couple realized that they actually liked each other. The two had been dating for a while before Josh finally met her parents. A dinner at Mindy's parents house was, all in all, a disaster, as was the majority of the dinner at Josh's house. Despite this, Mindy's parents have allowed her to continue dating Josh because they realize that Josh really cared about Mindy. They later broke up because the two agreed that they were inexperienced at dating and felt that they rushed things, so they agreed to see other people to find out if they were truly the right people for each other. In the episode "Eric Punches Drake", Josh suspects that Mindy has a new boyfriend. The two argue about it, and after Mindy reveals that her "Boyfriend" is actually her cousin, she and Josh kiss. Though they said that they were still broken up, it is obvious that the two still like each other, and that they might start dating again. In Drake & Josh: Really Big Shrimp they begin dating again.
"Crazy" Steve is an employee at The Premiere movie theater. He is hard working and pretty calm at times, until someone (usually Josh) critiques his work, and that is when he goes crazy. He gave his job to Josh in "Movie Job" after Josh corrected him. He then quit his job at The Premiere but kept working there. After that he appeared in "We're Married" (Drake & Josh episode) when he told Josh that the movie he wanted to play was soon starting. He later appeared in "The Storm" in Season 4. He yells in a straining voice and many of the other employees are terrified of him, particularly Josh. In the episode, "The Storm", he visited Drake & Josh's house to attend a party and was unbelievably polite to their mom while acting very hostile at everybody else there. Strangely, he seems to enjoy watching Dora the Explorer as he forced Craig to operate a hand-cranked TV so he could watch an episode of the show, and went crazy when anyone (except Drake and Josh's mom) attempted to change the channel or get in his way, but screamed orders to Dora in his normal straining voice. He has also been known to throw random objects for no reason in particular when he is in one of his "mood swings". Since then, he seems to have become a fan favorite which has resulted in him appearing in almost every episode, his anger issues being more apparent in some than other. Also it is revealed in the TV movie Drake & Josh: Really Big Shrimp, the song "She'll Be Coming 'Round the Mountain" calms him down, for reasons no one knows, and that his mood is at its worst on Monday. Steve also reveals in the movie that he has been officially limited to four outbursts a day by his therapist. It is hinted that he may have not liked his father (who apparently was the cause of him having to do his mother's laundry). This theory is further enforced when he cleans the stains out of the theatre carpets, as he pretends that each stain is his father. While he is doing this, it is also reveals that he went to fat camp at one time. The only thing you see Crazy Steve wear is his work uniform (the red vest, blue shirt, etc.); for instance, in "Really Big Shrimp" he wore his vest to Helen's wedding, and in The Storm he wore his work uniform to Drake and Josh's home.
Gavin has a mullet-like haircut and is always telling Josh to clean something unusual in the theater bathrooms. He then eventually cleans up the mess himself - his response (and catchphrase) being "I got it". The so-called messes included a wig stuck in a toilet bowl, a diaper stuck on a wall, gum in his perm, rat traps in the basement, and a hippie washing his feet in the theater. He is quite a lazy employee, and has been known to take naps on the roof of the theater. During season 4, he changed his hair from a mullet to a "per-mullet" (a mullet with a perm). He has also developed a crush on Drake's mom, and asked Drake to measure her. He also appears to enjoy salsa-dancing with Helen. He may have been fired by the Premiere, as he has only appeared in 2 episodes this season (one being at Drake and Josh's house) and Crazy Steve seems to have taken the role as Helen's chief assistant. Other evidence of this is that in "The Storm" Gavin was wearing street clothes while Crazy Steve wore his work vest.
Leah is the female Asian employee at The Premiere movie theater who appears only in Season 4. She seems to get along well with Josh and is also afraid of Crazy Steve.
  • Bruce Winshill
Bruce Winshill is a weather-man who works for Walter's competiting weather station. He is never seen on-screen, but is mentioned a lot, beginning with the Season 3 episode Theater Thug. He is described by Megan and Audrey as having good-looking hair and is disliked by Walter so much that he even once said not to mention his name in the house.

Other characters

Mrs. Alice/Linda Hayfer was first seen in the episode "Mean Teacher" as Drake and Josh's English teacher. She is from New Jersey and she puts the state in many of her cheesy jokes. She was also Mrs. New Jersey 1976. Mrs. Hayfer dislikes Drake because of his poor efforts in school and lack of responsibility. She displays this by reminding him that she hates him and counting all his answers wrong, even if they are correct, or even based on his own opinion. An example of this is when Mrs. Hayfer asked Drake what his favorite 20th century novel was. When Drake replies The Catcher in the Rye, she says, "Wrong". In addition, when Mrs. Hayfer asked Drake in class "In which language was The Odyssey written in, he replied Greek. Even though it was the right answer, Mrs. Hayfer said it was wrong. But when another student also answered Greek, she said the other student was right. Drake once dated her daughter without knowing and Mrs. Hayfer threatened to put Drake in summer school if he ever upsets her daughter. Her daughter appears to have an unusual laughing disorder. Also, in another episode where Drake was blamed of putting her car in her classroom, in the end Mrs. Hayfer says "It's really hard for me to say this but, I'm sorry I accused you of putting my car in my classroom." Drake said "It's okay." Then Mrs. Hayfer replied "But I still hate you." Just like how Helen favors Drake, Mrs. Hayfer favors Josh. She even went to the extent of letting Josh skip a pop quiz for doing a very good essay. Mrs. Hayfer also says "To the nurse" a lot as seen in "Mean Teacher" when she tells Drake this after declaring him expelled. Her name randomly switches to Linda and Alice such as Mean Teacher and Vicious Tiberious.
Dr. Jeff Glazer lives across the street from Drake and Josh. He is always called on whenever a serious emergency happens at their house. Although he seems kind during the medical procedure, he is always charging a high bill for his services. He charged $300 for inspecting Drake's rash in "The Bet", $500 for putting child star Ashley Blake to sleep in "Little Diva", and $100 for explaining why Bob the (actually female) lamb was acting up in "Sheep Thrills" with a $50 extra to not tell their parents there was a sheep in their room. He also seems to like wheat squares (which is a parody of "Frosted Mini Wheats").
Grammy Nichols is Josh's grandmother and Walter's mother. In her first appearance ("Grammy"), Drake dislikes her at first, because she doesn't treat him fairly. However, by the end of the episode, he starts to be more respectful of her for returning his money that he gave her earlier during a bet between the two. Grammy also has been known to send Josh various presents and gifts; on one occasion, she gave Josh a Gamesphere three months prior to its release in "The Bet" and a "Mono-Rocket" in "Tree House". She is also mentioned as having hormonal imbalances in the episode "Playing the Field", most notably a moustache - Drake makes fun of this, with Josh defending her. Although the character is mentioned frequently by both Drake and Josh, Grammy has only appeared once, in the aforementioned episode "Grammy". Grammy is gifted at basketball, and it brings her inner joy when she repeatedly destroys Drake.
  • Papa Nichols (Played by Alex White)
Papa Nichols is Josh's great-grandfather, Walter's grandfather, and is the father-in-law of Grammy. He is 81 years old and had surgery before the events of "The Demonator" and was on heavy medication that made him relive World War II during the episode. He mistook Eric and Craig (who were looking after him at the time) for two Nazi soldiers referring to them as German nerds (managing to attack them both), mistook his bedroom slipper for a walkie-talkie (which he uses to "contact" General Patton), and thought Eric's cell phone was a weapon (probably a bomb). He also punched his grandson (Josh's father) at the end of the episode because the medication had not yet worn off, and then ran off saying, "I got you, you stinking German," and chants "USA! USA! USA!". He is also mentioned later in Season 4 in the episode "The Wedding".
Mr. Roland is Drake and Josh's chemistry teacher who appears in "Josh is Done". He is very strict, and if a student is but one minute late to his class, he locks them out of his room without giving them a chance to reason. After Drake stole the car to make out with a girl at an important chemistry test and ran over Josh's bike, Josh ended up late to class by less than a minute and was locked out, being forced to take a makeup test the Saturday morning after, and Josh almost ended up losing a letter grade, until on the day of the retake Josh aced every single question, impressing Roland so much that he changed his mind about taking off the letter grade. He also makes a cameo in "Eric Punches Drake".
  • Gary (Played by Dan Mott)
Gary is the drummer for Drake's band starting in Season 4. So far, he has only appeared in "The Storm". He borrowed his sister's blouse for Drake's concert because all of his clothes were dirty, but then his sister comes in saying, "Gary! Give me my shirt back!". After removing his sister's shirt, he is revealed to have a tattoo of a foot on his chest. Later in the episode, it is revealed that he had to borrow a shirt with a panda on it from Megan, considering he likes pandas. His uncle appears to have a boat which he was going to use for Drake's concert's stage that was completely underwater because of the storm, but it is later revealed that his uncle sold the boat. He also called Josh's dad a doof with the stupid hair style and for being wrong about sunny weather, but then Drake's mom says, "Hey! That doof happens to be my husband!" and he replies, "And that's my fault?". Also, in the beginning of the episode, he asks Drake for sunblock and Drake reacts by squirting sunblock in his face.
Rina is a member of Drake's band, and plays bass guitar. The character is played by Molly Orr, who was a member of The Amanda Show cast, appearing in the Moody's Point sketches as Misty Raines; The Amanda Show was also created by Dan Schneider. In the episode "Josh Runs into Oprah", Drake mentions that a guy named Julio plays bass guitar for his band.
  • Paul (Played by Jeremy Ray Valdez)
Paul is a member of Drake's band, and plays rhythm guitar.
Scottie Wilson is the drummer for Drake's band and is shown to be unintelligent. He has one brother, Trevor, who seems to be as unintelligent as Scottie himself. In the episode "Megan's New Teacher", Drake mentions that he needs a new drummer to replace "Mitch" - Scottie is not mentioned in this episode, and only appeared during season one, like Drake's other two bandmates Paul and Rina. He apparently thought it was legal to photocopy tickets to a music concert (landing him, Drake, and their band into a lot of trouble with the police). In the episode "The Storm", a guy named "Gary" is the drummer in Drake's band.
Trevor Wilson is one of Drake's friends and is Scottie's brother. He was also apart of the The Amanda Show cast. He appears to be as unintelligent as Homer Simpson, like his brother. He gave Drake and Josh a dune buggy, which he "fixed" himself. His parents make him take a head examination every month. He is often mentioned, but so far he has only appeared in "Dune Buggy". He also had a Chevrolet El Camino made in 1977, which gets engulfed in flames at the end of ""The Wedding""
  • Clayton (Played by Josh Sussman)
Clayton is a character in Drake and Josh's science class. His only appearances are in "Eric Punches Drake" and "Josh is Done." In "Eric Punches Drake" Drake spat out a mouth full of mouthwash into Clayton's bottled water which prompted Clayton to follow Drake around for the rest of the episode asking in his mumbling voice "Why?". In "Josh is Done" when Drake shows up late to science class and finds that he and Josh are no longer lab partners his new lab partner is Clayton to which he responds "Clayton? but he's a nerd." When Drake asks Clayton for help he responds in his mumbling voice causing Drake to say, "I'm sorry I can't understand you" and when Clayton mumbles some more Drake just gets more frustrated yelling, "Dude, what are you saying?!?!"

Cultural References

Many of the Drake & Josh episodes have parodies in them. The following is an incomplete list of some of the more well-known occurrences:

  • In the episode where Drake & Josh are making salsa, and Megan wins the plasma screen TV, the musical background of the environmental show is an instrumental "Wait For You" originally by Elliott Yamin.
  • In several episodes, fake website domain names are mentioned like Skinillnesses.com, GetABus.org, whatswrongwithmybody.com, etc. These websites are also mentioned in another Schneider's Bakery show, Zoey 101, which is why the domains redirect to the Zoey 101 page on Nick.com.

  • In the episode "Battle of Panthatar", Josh turns on the television and hears the Hannah Montana theme song, but the announcer identifies the show as "Suzannah Louisiana" as a parody.
  • In the episode where Drake and Josh bet each other that they would not eat candy or play video games, respectively, Josh was tempted by the "GameSphere" (parody of the Nintendo GameCube. This may also be a reference to the South Park episode Towelie where the boys get a gaming console called Okama "Gamesphere"), a fictional game console. The controller shown for this console was an N64 controller and another was for an Xbox. They are also shown playing with PS2 more often. Josh also plays a Game Boy Advance SP. While supposedly playing a Mario game, Josh says "Take that, red turtle shell!" and Drake says "Jump the mushroom." Then Josh says "I'll jump the mushroom when it's mushroom jumpin' time!" Turtle shells and mushrooms are common in Mario games. Also in this episode, Drake walks into the bedroom and finds candy everywhere. Josh is wearing a top hat and has a giant candy cane. He is dressed like Willy Wonka from the movies Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
  • In the episode where Mrs. Hayfer assigns Drake to have a little brother, two cultural references are present, one of them mentioned twice. In one scene, Drake and Josh's "little brother" Sammy are pretending to be on a cooking show. Megan then shows up and asks if their show is called "Iron Boob," referencing Iron Chef. Another reference is when Drake buys tickets to a "Blaine Darbey" magic show. This is a possible reference to the popular street magician David Blaine.
  • Many times Drake and Josh refer to people playing or taking part in the show. In "the Tree House" Megan says their parents are out with the Schneiders and Josh says "stupid Schneiders," referencing Dan Schneider, who is on the crew.
  • In the episode 'Megan's New Teacher', Megan walks into Drake and Josh's room to get her 'Pintendo GS', a parody of the Nintendo DS, although when she picks it up, it is a GameBoy Advance SP.
  • In Drake & Josh Go Hollywood Josh makes several references to his G-O, an MP3 player in the show. However, in the episode where Josh starts working at The Premiere, he makes a references to the new "iBot," a parody of the iPod.
  • Also in Drake and Josh Go Hollywood, characters are playing the Sony PSP:
  • Drake, when Audrey and Walter leave for their cruise
  • Megan, when she is on the plane
  • In many of the Drake and Josh episodes Drake and Josh drink a soda called "Dr. Fizz", "Mountain Fizz" and "Moca Cola" most likely referencing the popular sodas Dr. Pepper, Mountain Dew and Coca-Cola.
  • In the The Great Doheny episode, Henry Doheny is a parody of Harry Houdini. Houdini actually claimed that he would one day come back from the dead, which is what Doheny does.
  • In Helen's Surgery, the show Happy Times is a parody of Good Times
  • In the Megan's Revenge episode, OR is a parody of ER (also, OR probably stands for Operation Room).
  • When Drake is referring to girls as candy, he talks about a Megathon Bar, which is probably a parody of the Hershey Bar.
  • In the Alien Invasion episode, when Drake is playing a song on his guitar, in the background near his bed is a sticker with the metal band, Slipknot font spelled "Slacker".
  • Drake and Josh use a laptop with a pear on it, a parody of Apple. This same parody is used in Zoey 101.
  • In numerous episodes, they refer to Galaxy Wars, an obvious parody of Star Wars. In a few episode they even use prop lightsabers(which appear to be Master Replica Force FX lightsabers). They refer to Princess Oblongata, a parody of Queen Amidala. Galaxy Wars is also referenced in Zoey 101.
  • The episode "I Love Sushi" is a homage to I Love Lucy, right down to the end credits, in which a scene where Drake and Josh are working in the sushi factory, is done in black and white with a heart surrounding the film, with a Latin version of the theme song played. The name of the factory that Drake and Josh worked in, Ball & Vance Fish Corp., is a reference to Lucille Ball and Vivian Vance who played Lucy and Ethel on I Love Lucy. The scene where the boys try to package sushi but can't keep up with it is a homage to an I Love Lucy episode (Job Switching).
  • The Episode "Driver's License," Drake mentions Inside Out Burger which is a parody of In-N-Out Burger. The same parody is used in the Tree House episode.
  • Also in Drake And Josh Go Hollywood, When Drake is driving Megan to the Airport with Josh, Josh is reviewing some of Drakes videos and the video he was watching in the car was the video in the Spring Fling episode of Zoey 101, This is video is also shown when Josh shows the Guy Drakes video in the mens room.
  • In the episode "The Drake and Josh Inn", the Four Schneiders Hotel is a parody of the Four Seasons Hotel, and to the creator of the show Dan Schneider.
  • In the end of the episode "The Peruvien Puff Pepper" Megan goes in her room and starts watching Drake and Josh clean up the kitchen, she says, "boob and boober" referencing to Dumb and Dumber.
  • In the middle of the episode "The Peruvien Puff Pepper" Megan is watching Drake and Josh making salsa. She picks up a remote and turns the screen on to watch them in her room. When the camera turns to the screen, another remote is hanging down on a panel below the television when she also has another one in her hand.
  • Oprah Winfrey is constantly referenced to especially in earlier seasons, Oprah is a hero to Josh and he even had a life-size cutout of her. In one episode, Josh accidently runs into her with his car while trying to find a parking spot to go and see her show.
  • In the end of the episode "Steered Straight" Drake and Josh are eating with Megan and their mother at a BF Wang's, an obvious reference to popular Chinese restaurant, PF Chang's
  • The show is filmed at Nickelodeon on Sunset, 6230 Sunset Blvd., Hollywood, Los Angeles, CA
  • World War II is mentioned two times in the series, once in the episode "Mindy's Back" (World War I is also mentioned), and again in the episode "Demonator" as well as the War of 1812 in the episode "Guitar"
  • In the movie Drake and Josh Go Hollywood, when Josh is beginning to read a magazine, there is a news flash. There is a man saying, "I'm standing here in front of the US Treasury (which is actually the Capitol building)..." He is obviously a reporter, and the station he is reporting for is called "CCN", an obvious parody of the popular news station CNN.
  • There have been many episodes that haven't aired for unknown reasons such as the episodes "Happy Birthday Megan", "The Return of Milo", "Drake's Dad and Josh's Mom" among some episodes.
  • In two episodes, Drake and Josh mentioned that they are going to watch Canadian Idol, obviously a parody of American Idol (this could also be a nod to the actual Canadian Idol show that airs in Canada.)
  • In the movie Drake & Josh: Really Big Shrimp, one of the titles on the Premiere Theater's marquee is "Now She's Carly", which refers to Miranda Cosgrove on her new show, called iCarly where she plays Carly. Another title is "Four Great Seasons" which refers to the four seasons that have so far passed during the show.
  • In the episode Helicopper, the two young police girls that appear when Drake buys the 1000th ticket name two movie parodies: 'Dreamscape', a parody of Dreamworks, and also Parascope, a parody of Paramount.
  • In the episode Paging Dr. Drake it appears to be that Walter is reading a Newsweek magazine in the hospital, but you can only see the word News, it appears to be that Condoleezza Rice's face is on the cover, the magazine is also seen again in the episode Theater Thug.

Episodes

Drake & Josh was premiered in the United States on January 11, 2004. According to Drake Bell's Official biography the fourth season is the final season, giving the series a total of sixty episodes. However, Miranda Cosgrove will star on a new Nickelodeon show, iCarly.

A recent Nickelodeon Press Realease said that Drake and Josh will still have more seasons ahead, even though rumors have been on the internet about the cancellation of the show, and about Miranda Cosgrove working is on her own show iCarly.

Movies

The TV movie Drake & Josh Go Hollywood is about Drake and Josh being left at home after their parents go on a cruise. They are told to bring Megan to the airport to visit her friend in Denver. After sending Megan on a flight to Los Angeles accidentally, they go to Hollywood to get Megan back, and they stop a multi-billion dollar heist.

A second TV movie, Drake & Josh: Really Big Shrimp, is about Spin City Records wanting to sign Drake for their label. He is on the road to fame and fortune. But Josh's inexperience as a manager (and his fondness for big shrimp) leads him to sign the contract without reading it, and accidentally signs over creative rights for Drake's new song. The TV movie aired on August 3rd, 2007.

"Kids loved the first Drake and Josh tv movie, Drake and Josh Go Hollywood, which scored huge ratings last year, and Drake & Josh: Really Big Shrimp has big personal stakes for the guys that really put their relationship to the test. Not only does it feature Drake and Josh as their comic best but has a really great song from Drake Bell. Kids won't want to miss it," Nickelodeon Executive Vice President Marjorie Cohn said of the movie on buddytv.com

Drake & Josh in New York! is an upcoming movie to be released theatrically in either 2007 or 2008, but nothing has been confirmed by Nickelodeon. It is mentioned at the end of Drake and Josh Go Hollywood that they will have to go to New York City to have Spin City Records sign Drake to their label. Although the plot sounds oddly familiar to Really Big Shrimp, plot details are unknown. According to imdb.com the movie production companies are The Collective Studios and Nickelodeon Movies, the movie will be distributed by Paramount Pictures.
