The Poison

The Poison is the debut full-length studio album released by Welsh metalcore quartet Bullet for My Valentine. It was released on 3rd October, 2005 through Visible Noise Records in the UK, and on 14th February, 2006 in the US through Trustkill Records. The album had four singles released from it: "4 Words (To Choke Upon)", "Suffocating Under Words of Sorrow (What Can I Do)", "All These Things I Hate (Revolve Around Me)" and '"Tears Don't Fall". The album included 11 new songs and two old ones. "Cries in Vain" was originally taken from their self-titled five track UK EP and the US six track EP Hand of Blood. "4 Words (To Choke Upon)" was originally taken from the EP Hand of Blood. As of July 11, 2007, the album has sold 292,574 copies in the US.[1]

2006 Re-Issue:
The Poison was re-released in the UK on 28th August, 2006 through Visible Noise Records. The album contained two discs, with four bonus tracks (two b-sides & two live tracks) on the first disc, and the second disc was a DVD with six videos from the band on it.

2007 Deluxe Edition:
Bullet For My Valentine released a new "deluxe edition" of their breakthrough debut album "The Poison" on June 12. The new special package includes all 13 tracks from the original album and four songs previously unreleased in the U.S. The "deluxe edition" also contains an exclusive bonus DVD with live concert footage as well as their music videos.

Chart Sales
The album debuted at #150 on the Billboard 200 and #2 on the Heatseekers Chart and as of August 1, 2007 it has sold 296,000 copies.
